What this article does not compare is the maintenance and reliability of both vehicles. I have never owned a Range Rover/Land Rover but everyone I know that has one does not use it for off roading and the maintenance is always an issue. I have read that on average a Range Rover/Land Rover has...
Good question. I don't think the Westcott product has been out long enough for the test. I live on the coast and even though I leave my truck in the garage I do see trucks that are left out in the elements and you can see rust or corrosion overtime here. It's just a fact of life, but I'm not...
I have the Westcott RR and love it. My GX came with the factory RR which made a lot of noise and negatively affected milage. I also have a moon roof and my Westcott RR is fully functional with all the crossbars installed.
I have the Westcott Roof Rack as well and I agree with everything Bill said above. I have a moon roof so initially we left off two cross bars and there was some play. I added one of the cross bars that we left off and it tightened it up. I'm very happy with it and it replaced the OEM RR which...
It's just my opinion, but I strongly agree that this is not the place for politics. I love off roading and and building my dream truck. I come here to get away from all that political BS.
Went back to Phoenix to finish my build. Went with the lift, new method wheels and Toyo Open Country A/T III LT285/75 R17. Drove it back to San Diego and loved the ride. It seems better than before. Here' a couple of pics
Hey Bill, I'm following your lead, so I'm interested in what your findings are.
Just got back from Phoenix last night. Finished out my build so far with the lift, Wheels and the 285/75 R17 Toyo Open Country tires. It might be my imagination but the ride seems better than before.
The wheels can be shipped from Phoenix. They would most likely have to go on a pallet via freight and it would probably run $500 to $600. I could help with the cost via pricing if your interested

Someone posted on this forum asking prices for used GX 550's and some were 15 to 20K over asking price. I went back through all the posts and cannot find that post. Sorry, but you shouldn't have any problems selling.
I paid $440 for the 3M paint protection up front and $1999 for the full body glass/ceramic. The dealer called it glass and it makes it real easy to clean plus it gives some protection to the paint I had no choice this is however. the dealer presented the car to me with both already applied...
I never really noticed a lot o noise when I had mine on. I took it off around 500 miles.. I live along to coast in southern Cal and get a lot of wind resistance so wind noise is pretty common with or without the rack
I agree, I might just keep looking. I would like to extend mine before I do anything real radical, but first I am going to go ahead with the wheels, tires and lift.
10K for all those features is not bad. I have the OT and the only thing I miss are the memory seats. For me everything else is fluff. The sound system in the OT is fine for me. I didn't have much choice in the matter. The OT became available at Lexus Carlsbad and there were 90 people on...
Got the Westcott GX full roof rack and a set of stock Lexus Rock Rails to replace the running boards. Going back in the fall for lift, and 34" tires. Didn't have time this trip and boy is it hot there. The folks at Westcott are great to work with and they know their business. Thanks Bill for...
