May I ask what you found to be the disadvantages of a hybrid drivetrain? I keep looking at hybrid & thinking it’s the best of all worlds. Especially since I have zero plans to go full electric.
Lack of Cargo Space I wonder if there’s supposed to be some sort of tray to take up that space? That’s what it looks like in the Land Cruiser. Perhaps, or probably, it’s an extra cost accessory.

I’m banking on it being very similar to the Land Cruiser if not the same. I suppose though you never know if Lexus decides to tune it vastly differently.
Congrats! The GS should make a great retirement vehicle for sure. My consideration with one as well. I”m a few years out (targeting end of decade), but need to get something bought & paid for by then.
Interesting price points I find. You can upgrade the off road features with the overtrail, or the vehicle overall features with the premium. To get both together moves you up to pricing of the Luxury, which I assume must be similar. Then of course you can go one up from there. I’ll have to...
I think you’re right, part of the attraction is certainly fair cost to operate (it’s not a Corolla) and great reliability. So beyond my choice of what car I need in what size, with the GX seemingly large enough for the highway but small enough to fit into your destination once you get there...
It’s one of those cars I honestly forgot existed or that they even still made. Once the GX hit my radar though I started seeing more of them around of all eras. I’d think premium pricing would prevent the new GX from becoming common, but that doesn’t ever seem to deter many here.

I’d be shocked if all these bits weren’t available at your local Lexus dealer for Lexus prices. Count me in as a fan, I like the look personally!
Wow that’s some impressive GX experience! I can’t offer much comparing the GX vs. LX. My interest in the GX comes from needing something not too large not too small as it seems I do too much urban driving yet need something bigger to get out on the highway too. The unofficial car of our city...
Not super knowledgeable, last time I did this was with Ford & a great dealership. I’d expect Lexus to far exceed what my experience has been, but it still probably varies. A lot.
1. They should either be refundable if you choose ultimately to not purchase the car, or put towards the...
Glad not all have 3rd row, but I too am waiting to see on the hybrid. I”m presuming it’ll be shortly as production ramps up, maybe for 25? Surely if there’s one manufacturer to trust electrified assistance to ICE it’s Toyota.
So what did you build? Overland + here. Ticked every box (was surprised there were boxes to tick), including the one for moonroof delete. Never been a fan & suspect this exists for those using RTTs. But. I doubt you’d actually get one built without it. So $80K US.
Looks like a nice little unit! Enjoy! I too am hoping they decide to put the hybrid in the GX for 25. I’d like a little better mileage given the long distances I’d plan to put on it. I’m not a full electric fan, but trust Toyota’s hybrid technology as they’ve been developing it for a couple...
🤞 on that! I used to think $100K was an impossible sum of money for a vehicle. I’m now thinking $99K might just be my upper end limit for one. Not sure I understand the tax though. Is it only on the amount >$100K? Or once you cross $100K it’s applied to the whole amount? Then is GST...
This sounds like the Toyota process based on what I’ve read on their forums and what a friend experienced with a Camry purchase. I’m used to the Ford (& probably all N.American brands) way of doing things where you submit your build just exactly as you want & they build it when they can & ship...
The full-size Broncos sure are nice! I keep wanting one, but with a removable roof to start I think they’re probably better as a 2nd fun car. When I realize my automotive expectation is to travel the continent (even if the worst I see is fire/logging/oilfield roads) those long distances as I...
Calgary, Alberta here. I hate how they can’t release our info as the same time. We’re obviously always more costly than the US no matte what the car is, but thankfully not as much more as a straight exchange rate calculation would be. Not sure how much more expensive it might be, there’s only...
Thanks for your help on this! Here I thought I might have to make sure I got the overtrail trim, but nice that I can go any way & still just do 5 passenger.
Not sure. The Premium+ is probably all I’d need but there’s a couple compelling options on the Luxury+…
I’m probably not offroading to any great extent so probably don’t need to go as far as one of the Overtrail choices.
Hello from Calgary AB! Currently in a 2022 Bronco Sport which, although it’s been Toyota reliable, has been somewhat less than I expected. Investigating all possible options this time around. Though I’m usually a Ford guy & will investigate all they bring to the table, Toyota has really...
