👋 Welcome to the Lexus GX 550 Forum! Please post an introduction thread!

Congrats! We lived in Conifer from 2007-2019. All 3 of our kids graduated from Conifer high, our youngest daughter in 2019.

Welcome! Post up some pics! Preferably ripping through some of that coastal sand that's everywhere down there. 🤣

Uh oh, you did it now! 🤣 What does that engineer know anyway, not going along with the Owner's Manual. The nerve! 🤣

Hood, vibration, body rolling, not Luxurious at all, not Lexus-like

I've been driving body on frame trucks most of my life. Based on a short little test drive in the new Land Cruiser, and how refined that feels to me, I'm confident the GX with its adaptive variable suspension and EKDSS, is going to drive pretty darn sweet for my taste. Not as nice as the '23...

    Break-in

My point is based on the fact that many, many times, engineers are overruled by bean counters. Bean counters need their employer to stay in business over the long haul. Since the majority of folks trade every 4-6 years, they aren't aware of what happens later on down the road when the vehicle...

    GX550 30 Day Stop Sale?

Oh, I'm sure the QC hold isn't bearing related. They still have some time yet before they have to address that on the GX, since it typically hasn't happened till 20k + miles. 🤣 But seriously, there won't be any engine swaps at port, so it isn't an engine issue.

    GX550 30 Day Stop Sale?

Lexus being tight lipped is probably nothing new. Toyota has been tight lipped for years. Both GX and Land Cruiser forum customers are griping about not knowing what the QC hold is about, but the new Tacoma launch had a similar month long QC delay after months and months of delayed release...

    Break-in

Why? Could you share some tidbit of information/experience that argues against doing an early change? Is an early change going to shorten the life of the engine? Why do you care if someone wants to do an early oil change - they paid for their vehicle, and can do with it as they please, just...

    GX Wannabe

All import manufacturers that do not have US factories, ship their vehicles through ports of entry into the US. Each manufacturer has a facility at each port, or close by, that installs a certain amount of options/accessories prior to putting vehicles on rail and/or trucks to head out to...

    Gripes on Base Trim

It may be possible to add fogs, as there is probably a decent chance the wiring harness is in there - may just need to add the lights and interior switch in a fairly straightforward plug-and-play scenario. It'll be a nice bill if it is possible, though. I would certainly think that at some...

    GX hood shakes

In certain muscle car circles, the Shaker Hood is a very desired feature. It screams power. Has been a feature on Mustangs dating back to the 1960's. I have a Shaker Hood on my 2007 Mustang. So I am excited that the twin turbo GX will be my other hot rod with a shaker hood. :ROFLMAO:

    GX Wannabe

Toyota and Lexus do not allow customers to "order" a vehicle, EVER. Dealers don't even get to "order" vehicles. They are notified what is going to be built, and about all they can request is a specific color to match a customer's "wants" to the particular vehicle that will be built. And that...

👋 Welcome to the Lexus GX 550 Forum! Please post an introduction thread!

Thanks for the welcome. Yeah, if Toyota had at least given us power lumbar on BOTH front seats, we would have gone with the LC. But NO passenger lumbar, and GX massaging seats, kind of made the decision for us. Plus, I've sold vehicles with the massaging seats - oh, so nice! It's about time...

Yes, Supersix, I recognized you right away from the Land Cruiser forum, which is why I signed up over here. For us, the ONLY reason we made the late switch over to the GX was the massaging seats.

👋 Welcome to the Lexus GX 550 Forum! Please post an introduction thread!

I just signed up here. Had been spending time over on landcruiserforum.com planning on getting a new Land Cruiser. However, it's looking like we may end up with a GX simply due to a lack of some seating features in the Land Cruiser that are pretty important to us in our advanced road trip...
