Yes, I did. It makes me sit with better posture/more upright than I would like on a long road trip. We had just test driven the Tundra which felt like a limo in the backseat so I think I was being more critical given that comparison. The GX is not prohibitive by any means especially in town...
We tested our car seat in the new Landcruiser, a Chicco KeyFit35 directly behind the passenger seat. I kept the front seat back at least 1" from touching the car seat. I at 6' had a roughly 1" to an 1.5" in space for knees. My wife at 5'6 had no complaints at all. Both of us were at a...
My 2 cents: Just looked at a Landcruiser - Landcruiser Premium Package and an OT today and yesterday. I know a lot of people claim the GX's interior is at a Toyota level or not luxurious enough. For me, the interior quality is night and day different between the two. And the ergonomics of the GX...
Please teach me about this: For the oil analysis, let's say it comes back with metal shavings (or whatever a bad result is), what do you do next? And if you catch the shavings early is there anything that you can do early to save the engine or is it like the Tundra situation?
I think Lexus did a really good job with the color line up. Feels differentiated but none that I dislike. I thought I didn't like the Mica but saw it in person and it looked great. The only option that is completely out for us is nightfall but that has nothing to do with aesthetics, just heat...
We haven't got an allocation yet, but our sales guy said we can drop any port or dealer installed options but factory options are take it or leave it. So if you like the car, that is where you might be able to get flexibility, depending on dealer of course.
I did do some looking around to see...
More small scratches than I would expect. My previous daily driver was a GMC Canyon , also black that saw a lot more abuse, was driven off road a fair bit and hauled lumber with regularity and had much less visible scratches. More than that, on the hood, there is a body line where the paint has...
Friends - What color do you think will age and wear the best?
My current Toyota is a lovely black with blue fleck and has held up poorly over the past four years. I have heard Toyota is known for their thin paint.
Of the current color choices, what colors do you think will hold up to abuse the...
Any reason why overhead vents and/or third climate zone would be a drawback or tradeoff on an overlander type vehicle? I am surprised by both omissions particularly the overhead, since it seems like that would simplify manufacturing if all trims had the same vents.
Not having the rearview...
I think it all depends on how you like to fish. If you are grabbing a few hours after work, having a rod strung up and ready to go is a very nice thing. Or driving between 3 or 4 spots in a day. I have had my eye on one for rafting just to make putting in at the boat ramp that much easier.
Make sure to either have the car shipped or be confident in the rules around picking it up in person. My understanding is if you buy a car in California and then drive it home, you are liable for CA taxes.
One other vehicle to pay attention to is the new 4Runner. The small price difference between the LC trim and the GX makes the main consideration the engines and fuel economy for us. If the 4Runner is $10k cheaper that will be a harder call.
We loved Pasadena, best residential architecture of any place I have been to. We moved from East LA to Pasadena and we always joked we moved to Eagleton. Can't complain as I sit on the deck and look at the Rockies and listen to the sounds of the Colorado River. But very much miss SGV for the food.
How has that dealership been? Honor the MSRP? Any add ons or extra fees? We are on the list for one in the Springs who so far has been great but thinking of checking around given the wide estimate of 4-10 months.
They seem like a high margin low volume dealership which I have learned is best avoided if possible. The benefit is they often have inventory on hand but if you find a high volume, low margin shop and have the time to wait, the experience is much better and lower cost. We bought a RAV4 Prime at...
A problem in and of itself is certainly knowledge. There doesn't have to be a solution. And a brand new car that doesn't start is a problem. Also the OP isn't being alarmist or histrionic over it.
You are right on the coolbox, I got confused looking at the Overtrail which I was considering but the 3rd row is a very wanted feature and while the vehicle will get lots of towing miles and time on dirt roads, I had an offroad pick up truck that was used once to its capability in 8 years.
Finally got to get behind the wheel of the GX (Luxury) and equally important got the wife's endorsement to purchase. Her one requirement is a 360 camera for parking (and not in blue or black), which the Luxury trim has and is very nice.
The salesman who showed us the vehicle said all trims...
I crossed shopped these two. I prefer the looks and interior of the GX but that aside, the GX is a better fit for us as a tow and camping vehicle with it's considerably higher tow and payload ratings. Also, I think the engine of the GX in the mountains will be a plus even with the lower MPG rating.
Hello all,
I am located in Colorado. Have my name with a couple dealers with an anticipated delivery in winter / spring. Hopefully timing it for MY 25. Currently have a RAV4 prime and a Polestar 2. Had pickups for a long time but looking for a tow vehicle that can accommodate our growing...
