I'm not a moderator so I'll leave it up to them, but I certainly don't come to this forum for political talk. And rather than get into a discussion, I'll just ask that moderators weigh in and, hopefully for the forum's sake, remove these posts.
Bill, that looks nice. What do you think of the structural integrity of that front plate screwed into the plastic trim? I'm guessing it's more than sufficient to hold in the items you have even cornering hard or on some rough terrain.
Ask the Lexus dealer that's two hours away. Some (most?) do a valet pickup/drop off for service. They'll come out to your house, pickup your Lexus, drop off a loaner, and when the service is done they'll drive your vehicle back to you and pickup the loaner.
When I talked to my local dealer...
It surprised me too. I'm going to have to see if I can find any other information on the subject, but that YT channel is usually solid on technical details.
A point made in the video at the 10:35 timestamp is that the locked center diff only splits torque 50/50 if both the front and rear have grip. When locked it will send up to 100% (although maybe not in the Toyota/Lexus design) to the end (front or rear) that has grip if the other end is slipping).
Not really GX specific, but in case anyone wants a good detailed explanation of the full time 4WD system vs. part time 4WD in Toyota/Lexus, this video explains it.
I think he’s saying his OT had 2 miles on the odometer when he picked it up from the dealer. That’s a pretty typical odometer reading for a brand new car.
Any idea of the part number or link to that rear panel? It looks like an official Lexus accessory, but I can't find it. If you notice, it's in the picture on the rear cargo mat item but it does not appear to be included with the rear cargo mat...
I got on the waitlist at my local dealer two months ago. I was told it would probably be around 9 months or less. So sometime around the end of this year to the beginning of next year I expect to see it.
I still have some time before my GX comes in, but the only add on I'm considering is the prepaid maintenance. The fact that Lexus has valet service pickup with loaner drop off means I'll be happy to use the dealership for service even though they're 46 miles away. I will, of course, do my own...
Even if the OP did have to remove the original roof rails, it doesn't appear to be a difficult job. Take a look at the "Install Video" on the Prinsu Roof Rack page (the Prinsu requires removing the existing roof rails).

Bill, I assume the small holes on the bottom of the inner hood panel (not the ones with a flat area around them which I assume are used for the clips that hold the liner) are drain holes or something like that. Have you looked for a plastic or nylon nutsert that could be popped into a few of...
I have no experience with the 3M foam product linked to in an earlier post. But I have used a two part racing foam to make a seat for my race car in the past and the foam I used took quite a while to expand. It was definitely affected by gravity. It started out the consistency of, say, a wood...
Bill, what is the
Feed a heavy duty large trash bag between the inner and outer hood pieces with the opening of the bag near the front of the hood - higher up. Attach a clear plastic tube to the foam tip and put the other end in the bag. Push the push into the bag and let it expand into the...
Thanks for the pictures, Bill. I'm not sure if I'd trust any expanding foam to not break down and turn to powder over time. Even if it's heat resistant the constant pressure of the hood as it tries to flex or thermally expand/contract at a different rate than the inner hood piece (outer hood...
I'd be happy with 11" - 11.5" of clearance. I want to balance the increased ground clearance with maintaining droop to keep the tires on the ground over crosscuts or moguls.
1due, you can disable the Driver Monitor Alert by going into the infotainment system under Settings->Driving assist->Driver support and down at the bottom of the right side of the screen should be "Driver monitor alert". Just toggle that to off and you won't get those warning on your dash. The...
In order to use the Apple Music or or Amazon Music built-in apps I assume you have to have enabled the WiFi Connect service in the Lexus app and then, once the WiFi Connect trial is over, pay for the WiFi Connect feature, yes?
Please post up some pics of the bare inside of the hood once you remove the insulation that's in place and let us know what dynamat says - solving these kinds of problems is what make these auto forums great!
Let us know if the sound deadening matting stiffens the hood enough to prevent the flutter.
I was thinking that a "+" made from two stiffener bars and "glued" onto the underside of the hood with 3M Panel Bonding Adhesive should work. Mind you, it would take some work to roll the stiffener into...
Watch this video from the 16:00 mark - there's a good chance that any engines built on or after Feb. 2024 are OK. Note, this is certainly not proof, but it's a reasonable assumption:
Agreed. I'm still waiting on my OT (and will be for another 4 to 5 months), but I was very disappointed to see that missing on the OT, especially seeing as a $35k Honda Accord has memory seats.
