Since the mechanics on all of the GX models similar (with exception of OT / OT+ with the suspension and E-KDSS) will we be able to upload the software to enable the different drive modes like snow, mud, sand etc... And other modes like enabling the different camera views...
It seems like there might need to be some sort of additional modules that may be required but the mechanics and features are there...

Please share your thoughts.

The Premium, Premium+, and Luxury will just have the basic drive modes (eco, normal, and sport).

Luxury+, OT, and OT+ have the adaptive variable suspension, so they have normal, comfort, eco, sport s, sport s+, and custom drive modes.

OT and OT+ additionally have MTS, which brings auto, dirt, sand, mud, and deep snow in H4; and auto, sand, mud, and rock in L4.

Those additional drive modes on cars with AVS can’t be added to cars without AVS. And the MTS modes can’t be added to cars that don’t have the additional things the OTs have.

The added camera views that MTS brings seems like it could be easily added to all GX models, since they all have the same cameras. I’m a little annoyed my Premium+ doesn’t have a nice curb view where I can see my tires, closest I can get is if I fold my mirrors… it’ll show the strips next to the car. But it’s not ideal. since now I can’t use the mirrors. I wouldn’t bet on it being added. Usually major features aren’t added, even if they’re software.

It would be great if someone can create a guidance to understand what is required to make some of these features possible. Even with something that should be easy as the digital rear view mirror! Even the new 4Runner has that feature and the Land Cruiser 1st edition...
