In the interest of public service...

So went to the dealer for my service and one of my requests was to shut off the fake engine noise - appears there is not much out there to tell them how to do that. So they initially turned off both the ESE (engine enhancement) and the Active Noise Cancelling - the first option. Driving the car after the ANC is turned off makes this a noisier car - tire noise, tinny sounds etc - sounded like a Toyota and not a Lexus.

I went back today and sat next to the Service Manager as he used his laptop. So in the 'Other' settings there are 4 options - choose wisely. The first one the dealer initially used shuts off the "enhanced engine sound" - ESE I believe - as well as the Active Noise Cancelling. Option 2 shuts off the ESE but leaves on the ANC - which I wanted. The third option turns both on, the 4th turns both off.

As long as you don't run Sport S + you don't have engine noise as far as I can tell. Its very obvious if you accelerate in Sport S + and then shift to Sport S, the noise immediately goes away.

I have Carista and was able to turn off the ESE using Carista OBD Dongle and the Carista app. I also used Carista to turn off the rear seat belt and passenger chimes.

In the second paragraph above, it looks like you left out a word following "wisely" - Grasshopper

Seriously, I have not heard of this "engine noise" etc... I have the OT - Where do I go to find the Options and then the Engine Noise and Active Noise Cancelling???
The vehicle so far has been a never ending game of "find the new feature".

When you go in for service - the dealer can program that all for you - pretty fast. You cannot do it via the display. You will notice the engine noise if you go into sport+ and have the stereo on

I just got the adjustment done at the dealer. It's much better now. Sport mode is usable now. The fake engine noise was obnoxious, tricks the mind into thinking its going much faster...
