For anyone looking to stock up, the denso code is: 1780131141

For some reason, many of the filter manufacturers are stating the larger filters that belong to the sequoia and tundra also fit the GX but this is not the case. I prefer wix and the correct part number is WA10313.

I installed the Wix WA10313 because it had the prefilter, and my dealerships stopped ordering the original 1780131141. I seem to have taken an immediate 1.5mpg hit. Gonna get my hands on some of the OE filters and see if it just happens to be my driving. Was hoping for the opposite after 16k with a lot of dirt roads on the originals.

Take note that your fuel trims adjust as the air filter gets dirty. Anytime I change my filters I disconnect the battery to reset my trims. You can also just keep driving and they will adjust over time but i’m just impatient lol.

I'm sorry, but what wrong with original filter from Toyota? Or it is just a preference. Looks like it is more expensive that original one.

I have the aFe drop-ins myself. No complaints

Original filter is great. Unfortunately most dealers in the area don't carry it, only the "superceeded" part that doesn't have the prefilter. With a lot of miles of dirt roads, I wanted the prefilter and the Wix looked like a good option.

FYI it does appear Bell Lexus Parts does have part number 1780131141 available for $19 each, and with free shipping too. Stock up now - I think this is about as cheap as I've seen it. Truly don't know how that parts department makes any money.

thanks for this tip. I just received the OEM Toyoto/Denso made in Japan air filters from Bell Lexus in Scottsdale AZ and confirming they do have the foam prefilter. Their prices are cheap and free shipping to here on the East Coast. I bought front OEM mud flaps for my OT from Bell earlier too and got free shipping, highly recommend that dealer for parts.

Has anyone ever ordered from toyotapartsdeal.com? They have the filter for $15.46. The site says it’s for a Highlander, but it’s the same part #.

Never mind. Shipping is $12 to me. I can drive down the street to Culver City Toyota and pick it up for $22.

Caution - according to the Wix cross reference, the Highlander / RX450h air filter has an ever so slightly different shape & size than the GX / LX / Tundra / Sequoia air filter.

I have no idea how that's possible, given the Lexus part number seems to be identical between the RX, GX, and LX, but closer inspection might be warranted before you install it and forget about it. Maybe Wix just designs a different filter because an RX might have different filtration needs from the trucks.

Careful about changing your filters too frequently - the video below featuring filtration experts from Donaldson (around 3:30 timestamp) states that air filters are the least effective when they're new, because dust trapped in the media helps attract and trap other dust particles flowing through it.

In other words, air filters become better and better at filtering as they get dirty - seemingly infinitely - or at least well beyond when you'd start to feel power loss.
