The Toyota nearly identical twin to the GX550 does not offer a 3rd-row. All variants are hybrid, and the rear floor area is raised. Kudos that the battery is protected, but it may preclude the option of a 3rd row. So, I am really interested to see how Lexus implements the hybrid version. The sooner the better, as the fuel economy on the V6 may be dismal. We do know with a fair degree of certainty the GX hybrid will incorporate the same drivetrain as the Land Cruiser, i.e. the 2.4L turbo with an 8-speed transmission.
