I’m building up an Overtrail+ for K9 Search and Rescue

I’ve been waiting on my GX for quite a while. Yesterday I found out another customer backed out of their order and I could take it. I’m a K9 handler for a search and rescue team and will be building the GX out as my dream K9/ overland vehicle. I’ve built up land rovers and jeeps in the past but never anything this nice. I’m excited to pick your brains and share my build.

Are you going full blown Ace K9 insert or just a carrier in the back?

I’m currently using an impact crate but I don’t think it will fit with the GX. I also don’t think there are any full inserts for the GX (I’ll check Ace). I will probably go with a variocage but need to see how everything fits. Any ideas are welcome.

I have 3 K9 handlers in my narcotics unit. The marked units have Ace K9 full inserts, but they all have portable kennels as well. The name escapes me at the moment, but there is a poly one that did better than the rest in crash tests. I will snap a pick today at the office.....
