Yes they can be removed.
The vehicle should have come with a tool to help remove them…it’s just a fancy allen key. They are in a fixed spot though on the rack rails.
Remember to make note of the orientation of them if removed and position. If not facing or in the right spot they won’t fit properly.

which version do you have, Premium or Lux with flush rails or OT with raised rails? The flush rails, I believe have fixed locations for the cross bars.

I don't want to remove them; just wondering if they can move forward or back. It's a premium plus. Putting a Thule box on top fro a trip from the east coast to Utah.

On my OT+ I was able to adjust the crossbars forward/back

Mine only has the 4 tapped holes on the inside of the rails for the cross bars to be threaded into

Remove end caps, loosen with Allen, slide to where you want, tighten back down, replace cap.

I mean yeah you could do that but the first slide specifically says align pins with holes
