This is my Meter Display Customization setup 1, which I use for everyday driving around. It starts with Meter Type 2 (set with Settings/Vehicle Customization/Meter on the main display). Then on the steering wheel, you press/hold the ok button down for Meter Customization. I have the left panel set with Turbo Gauge, center panel with Map 1 and right panel with Navigation.
I really LIKE this look for my everyday driving around (first picture).
What I DISLIKE - Part 1 - Meter content is changed by engaging the Dynamic Cruise Control
The second picture was taken after I engage the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. You can see that it's engaged with what appears right of the 37 mph. Notice that with engaging the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, the Meter drops the left side tachometer and the right side speedometer. There is no reason to drop these just because the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control is engaged and it makes the display look silly and incomplete. Anyone else think that the tach and speedo gauges should be left up with Dynamic Radar Cruise Control engaged?
What I DISLIKE - Part 2 - Speed "settles" in at 1 mph lower than the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control speed setting
In the second picture you can see the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control is set at 38 mph and the radar sees no car in front of me restraining the car from reaching the set speed. The car is going 37 mph. Whenever the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control is on the car and there is open road in front of the car, the car always settles in at a speed that is 1 mph lower than I set. It's not a big deal but it is annoying. I find myself setting the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control at 1 mph faster than I want to cruise so that it settles in at the speed I really want to go. Has anyone else experienced this?
What I DISLIKE - Part 3 - The Compass and Map 1 are BOTH replaced with arrow instructions when Navigation is engaged
When you engage navigation (through CarPlay in this case), the right panel with the Compass changes to Navigation arrow instructions, and the center panel Map 1 changes to a smaller redundant version of Navigation arrow instructions. See the 3rd picture. The Compass is a great option that I think should be made available without alteration when Navigation is engaged. I want that up always when I am driving regardless of what other features are engaged. Anyone else agree with this? I'm okay with the center panel Map 1 changing to arrow instructions when Navigation is engaged, but a good size map replaced with a tiny arrow instruction leaves a lot of unused space that could be better arrow instruction. If the arrow instructions in the center panel is going to be that small, why not leave the map too. Am I wrong?
In the last picture below, I have both Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Navigation (through CarPlay) engaged. The Dynamic Radar Cruise Control kills the left side tach and right side speedo. The Navigation kills the center map and kills the right side compass. It looks awful.
All 4 of these pictures are taken with a single Meter Display set up and are only altered by the engagement of the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and/or Navigation (through CarPlay). I start out with a set up that I like (photo 1) but it changes to something that I don't care for, and I feel is not very well thought out.
There are things that could easily be better, but I still love this truck.
