mild vibration/shake on highway when accelerating

Has any 550 owners felt a low vibration/shake when accelerating? I don't hear it really. I feel like in my feet and steering when I accelerate on highway and it is mild, more so when I accelerate gently at normal speeds. In some cars I've noticed this when trying to find gears, but it seems more pronounced in my premium plus. It is not the tires because the vibration is gone when not accelerating and the car is just rolling along. Not sure if it is anything to be concerned about but just curious if anyone else noticed similar issues. Maybe try and pay attention to that and let us know if it is just a body on frame thing?

I actually have the opposite. For me it’s noticeable at low rpm/speed and from a stop. Does not like to be slow. But highway is like butter.

Someone on here recommended I have them reset my transmission software and when I set up my first oil change I will be bringing it up.

I think it is a transmission shifting vibration, and for me it is only when driving at low speeds and very mild acceleration. I'm driving it like a baby for the break in period, and when I'm barely accelerating it seems like maybe it almost isn't applying enough force on the transmission for a clean shift. If I take off with any gusto, say accelerating to get onto the highway, zero issues. But if I take off SLOW, like in stop and go traffic, I will sometimes feel that vibration.

I definitely notice a vibration in the steering wheel and feel it throughout the truck when I get to about 75mph. I’m going to have them look at it next week.

I specifically asked during the test drive if we can take it up to Highway speeds but they wouldn’t let me take it on the highway, we only managed to get up to about 60 or 65 on the surface streets.

I have a very annoying engine/drivetrain vibration/buzzing through the steering wheel. It increases with engine speed and is worst between 3k-4k RPM, and is vehicle speed independent, it is as bad at 25mph in Sport + mode as 40-50mph in normal mode. Only seems to come through the steering, not the shifter, not the brake pedal, and not when a passenger. Truck is a Luxury +. The buzzing/vibration experience makes the driving experience suck, feels like a cheap piece of junk. Anyone have something similar?

It’s been discussed here at length.

any updates on yours?
Yes, the dealership road force balanced the tires and it resolved the issue. At this point it any vibration I might feel is not a consistent resonant vibration and is due to the road surface.

At the end of the day it now drives like a very nice body on frame truck with AT tires, but it won’t ever feel like a unibody SUV with road tires.

Man I hope they do that for mine. Seems like an easy fix yet they’ve had the truck for 3 days :/
They had mine for a week!! Turns out they had the issue fixed in a couple of days but svc manager wouldn’t return my calls :|

Finally Lexus customer service got them on the phone for me and I test drove it with the lead tech for the dealership.

I hope they have it back to you soon.

I read all of that cluster of a thread, and mine is different. My truck rides great, no suspension chatter, no feeling like it is on a washboard, rides great at speed, no squealing breaks, definitely not a sticking caliper, no vibration in the back seat, not feeling like a tire imbalance or other defect. Just an annoying engine/drivetrain vibration that increases in frequency with engine speed through the steering wheel that normally should not be there or is normally damped out.

Have you dropped it for service yet? I’m curious what they find

I had the service manager drive it with me and he suggested bringing it in at 1k. He ws thinking it was the 265/50/22 Dunlops transmitting too much engine vibration, but I am not so sure. Feels like engine/drivetrain vibration reaching the wheel and being transmitted back up through the tie rods into the rack and steering, like they used hockey pucks for bushings. We will see.
