Newbie to Lexus and the GX universe...

Hey GX friends! My 25 GX 550 Overtrail in Nori Green Pearl arrives in a few weeks. I'll be leaving behind a 22 Defender 90 X, which was a beast off road, had a great air suspension system and oh yeah... terrible electronic and cooling issues. No fun breaking down 7 miles off pavement smack in the center of Nevada, 200 miles from Reno.

Looking forward to Toyota/Lexus durability and reliability while road tripping all the western US and Canada..

Glad to have found this thread with so many helpful forums. Currently trying to figure out what might be the best skid setup with maximum coverage, and note NYTOP, Victory and Slee get regular mentions. Will also plan to wrap the GX for protection against Sierra pinstripes. Thoughts always gratefully appreciated.

I’m still at the purchase consideration stage. I think it appeals to me as a quality vehicle that should last a long time. Large enough to enjoy on the highway, I think, while also being small enough to maneuver in the city once you get there.
