Hi
I purchased an Overtrail in Incognito from a San Antonio,TX dealer a few weeks ago, and had to fly there from Denver to take delivery. Only a 1,000 mile drive home. My first chore was to undercoat it with Cosmoline, a messy job. Next, I removed the second row seats. I finally finished replacing them with a rubber-covered plywood floor today; working only a few warmer midday hours in our Colorado winter. In May I will build a second level to carry kiteboards, guns, fishing rods, and a portable solar panel. I am a 75 year-old retired wildlife biologist, and will use the GX like my previous Tahoe and Sequoia for long adventures in time and distance, usually with my yellow lab, and pulling a travel trailer, boat, or llama trailer. I will post progress as it happens. Nice to meet you all, and thanks for the forum!

Congrats and welcome.

how's your GX going? I really like that plywood setup. That's the next thing that I'm going to add on my GX

My GX is doing well, thanks for asking. I slept in the back 2 nights without a problem. I added a folded towel to level the low spot in the middle where the cargo area drops down. My next project will be to build a 4’ x 6’ upper level with a cut out behind the front passenger seat so I can sit up. Will post pics.

I got to try the sand MTS, center lock, and rear diff lock in some South Texas sand on my recent trip. I did not get stuck like I did last year in my 2021 Tahoe, so I am very happy with the GX off road system. Also, I pulled my 15’ boat 1300 miles each way without a problem. Until next time then, from Bruce in Colorado.

you should look into sound deadening! i'm almost done deadening my whole car. floors, doors, trunk, fenders. just need to drop the headliner last and i'm done. Have gotten 1-1.5 db decrease on 70mph. so that's a 20-30% decrease in sound

Thanks for the sound deadening idea. I did that under the plywood floor. The cargo area will be much quieter when I install the upper level and fill the back full of gear.
