Hello all, I recently purchased gx550 white pearl ext. and noticed a paint defect? on the hood of the car. Does anyone know what this is and how to get rid of it? I tried to rub it with my finger and not coming off at all. Any ideas?

Thank you for your insights. Contacted the dealer and waiting for the response. Hope it's not something major. You should contact your selling dealer as soon as possible to document the issue. This is yet another reason you need to inspect your new vehicle thoroughly in well-lit conditions before accepting delivery. It's likely that the clearcoat has swirls from the adhesive backed protective sheets applied during transport to the dealer. A professional clearcoat cleaner and wax such as "M-Ron Glass" should remedy this, but it's best that your dealer examines this before you try to fix this on your own.
Just came back from the dealership. Fortunately it was just a residue from the protective film.Just a word of caution. You should never attempt to "rub out" paint defects using your finger as contamination can cause further damage and micro scratches in the clear coat. As a minimum the surface should be wetted down with a detailer or other suitable wetting agent. Your dealer should step up and have the entire hood professionally detailed and evaluated for paint correction. Hopefully it's just residue from the protective film which can be removed with clearcoat cleaner and polish. Anything beyond this would be a cause for concern.
