On our 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser I tapped into the rear view mirror plug inside the overhead console. It was a simple pull-down on the front sides, then slide the unit forward to unhook the 2 tabs on the read of the console.

But in our new 2025 Lexus GX550 the overhead console is different. Can't find anything on the GX550 forums or youtube on how to pop open the overhead console. Can anyone tell me how to do it?
Thanks.

The connector you need is in the hump behind the rear view mirror

.bend your mirror down as far as you can....the top half slides straight back towards the rear. the lower half if you need to remove it slides downward towards the dash after the top piece is removed.

The plug you need is the white one on the passenger side. the 2 leftmost on the bottom row is what you want to tap into for ACC power.

Thank you! That confirms what I thought to be the case. So it is similar to the 2025 Land Cruiser ...just tricky to pop the first latch loose and slide it backward (NOT downward).

Already have the tap kit:

But found this connector with a break-out RJ11 that simplifies the install (if the RJ11 cord is long enough)...

There may not be enough room to fit that plug adaptor within the confines of the shroud. If it doesn't work, the blendmount tap allows a quick bend after the plug to avoid hitting the shroud and also has the RJ11 adaptor.
