Hey Everyone!

Right now, I have 2 vehicles for duties required. Truck for towing my car to the race track and car (not the track car) for daily driving. Considering trying to downsize and blend the two duties into one vehicle (yes i know, jack of all trades, master of none). I thought this would be impossible but in comes the GX550. Test drove a luxury model yesterday (I would be getting the Premium +) and of course it was very comfortable and very easy to drive and maneuver but hard to determine how it would tow. I have no doubt that the GX550 has plenty of torque and power but my concern is the rear sway and stability while towing at highway speeds. I pull a 20ft enclosed aluminum trailer, total weight is just under 6,000 lbs plus a few hundred in the bed (trunk) for track tools etc. I usually measured my tongue weight to 800-900 lbs so I think with the 1500 payload the tongue weight should be fine.

For the record I have a weight distribution hitch with sway control bar on the F-150.

Before pulling the trigger, I wanted to try to get some feedback from others that tow with the GX and even better how it compares towing to what I have now or similar: 2023 Ford F-150 Ecoboost

I think your F-150 is likely a better tow vehicle, primarily because it has a longer wheelbase. I just returned from a 2k mile trip towing my 4k travel trailer with an Overtrail. It had plenty of power, and handled well at highway speeds except in strong crosswinds. My 2021 Tahoe had similar power with the 5.3l engine, but was less affected by crosswinds.

I don't believe the GX has this, but would delighted to be wrong - Does it offer trailer back up guidance like the new 4runner with predicted backup lines on the camera?
