Stainless Side 40L large-capacity spare fuel tank Fits 2024-2026 Lexus GX550

That could be a good option....will have to investigate some more....looks like it's a 10-gallon auxiliary tank?

But this isn't encouraging under the Item Description:

*Product Introduction:

2.APPLICATION--Provide a premium and stylish decor for your car, cover existing scratches and decorate your car.
3.DESIGN--Perfectly match with your original car. It can bring luxurious decoration upgrades to your car.

There seem to be a number of resellers with the same pictures and description. Found via ChatGBT. I am waiting on a second reply from one of them. When I ask for the owner's manual and installation instructions I was told they come with the product, please purchase. I'll make a second request second request. Maybe I'll have better luck.

So the 40L side tank only works with the 2.4T GX. For the 3.4T GX they have the following.
From our conversation;

Hello! What version is your vehicle, 2.4T or 3.4T? This spare fuel tank is only suitable for the installation of 2.4T vehicles! We also have a 3.4T version of the spare fuel tank with a capacity of 107 liters. Please refer to the picture! 107 liters is suitable for the installation of all models. The product is made of stainless steel, and the oil pumping speed is 120 liters per hour. We can guide the installation! thank you

Yep, well there is your spare tire auxiliary gas tank right there! An extra 28 gallons is a completely new ball game with these trucks. You just have to lose your spare tire.

I wonder how well it really works....with these things you have to expect a lot of hassle and custom work to actually get it installed, connected, etc. It can also be a nightmare to get an aux tank to play nice with the OEM computers. With all the vapor recovery & emissions computer crap, it can be near impossible to plumb in another tank. BUT, if it really fits in that location, the mounting points actually work, and it holds fuel, an easy option may just be consider it an independent spare tank and rig up a pump and a hose to literally fill yourself up on the side of the trail when needed.

As much as I detest the small tank, I would be very reluctant to put on an after market auxiliary tank for the reasons stated above by Bill, but primarily due to fuel fed fire concerns post minor rear impact. Filling up more often than you should sucks but burning to death is worse.

Is there an optional exterior spare tire holder like a Jeep. Maybe just buy 2 Jeeps instead of 1 Lexus. Then you have a spare vehicle instead of a spare tire. Ya I know you’ll need a spare vehicle because you bought a Jeep. (Just saying)
