Weight distribution hitch recommendations

I have used an older model Equalizer WDH with my 4,000 Airstream for the past 6 years, first with 2007 Sequoia and then a 2021 Tahoe. I really like it. It works great for both transferring weight to the front wheels and adding sway control. A short test drive with the new GX a couple days ago showed it worked well. I am planning a 1000-mile drive from CO to AZ soon, and will update later. I was concerned the GX lift gate would not clear the propane tank cover on my trailer, but it does. The hitch sticks out an inch further on the GX compared to the Tahoe, due to the hitch pin hole location, which likely helped.

I’ve also been using the ReCurve R3 successfully since 2021. First on our 2017 GLE43 (air suspension equipped), and then on the 2022 Sequoia Sport (I installed air bags on that one to get everything perfect level). Traded in Sequoia for the GX OT.
When pulling or backing into very uneven spaces…I remove the bars first. Otherwise and if just for the night everything remains hooked up.
The anti-sway adjuster works well..just a little practice and you feel it working well.
The last I recall there were 3 versions of the ReCurve with different weight ratings…

I had a chance to test the anti sway performance of my e2 WDH a few days ago in a gusty strong cross wind near Tucson. No sway in the trailer, but the OT was far more unstable side-to-side than my previous TV, a 2021 Tahoe. The OT has a shorter wheel base, is narrower, and boxier. Not so much movement as to feel unsafe, but enough to require constant attention.

I always leave my WDH connected regardless of backing or turning; it keeps the system level and reduces the chances of bottoming out. It only comes off when I drop the trailer.
