Looking at picking up a NYTOP front Hybrid bumper with the fog lights. Has anyone added something similar and specifically is it difficult to wire in the lights and where did you connect those to? I've seen some vehicles that have accessory switches - but have not seen anything like that on the Lexus and hope I do not need to start drilling. Any input would be super!

I'm installing a Baja Onx6+ light bar on the roof rack and wiring it to a Garmin switch. This method doesn't involve drilling. The shop I'm using is not sure about the dash layout of the GX hence we're going with this option.

I have ordered the skid plates and rock sliders from NYTOP. Maybe I'll order the front bumper as well. It does look pretty good.

Curious of how your running the power wire if you aren't going thru the roof? Thanks!

What is a Garmin switch?

I just bought the Garmin Powerswitch. It is a module that you install near the battery and then run all your accessory light wires to it, and then you turn on the lights from your phone. So, you don't have to run wires through the firewall and make new switch holes etc. I have yet to install it, but there is plenty of info on Youtube.

This is another option that lets you use an app on your phone and also physical switches with no wires attached. You can sticky-tape a switch pod to your dash, clip it to your sun visor, put it in the cupholder or your pocket. The benefit is that you don't have to route wires through your firewall and drill & mount a switch or switches.

I'm going to check out the Garmin switch too.

i have not looked, but for the sake of discussion, has anyone found any firewall entry points easy to get to from the cabin?

*probably one of the coolest features of the grenadier, was prewired switches and relays all over the vehicle, including external.

What is everyones take on these lower profile bumpers (this one is a NYTOP) - understand improved approach angle - but look at how much more of the components are exposed to air in the first two pictures (lower profile) versus the last picture on the right is stock. Seems like that introduces all the components to the air and ultimately more noise.

Thoughts?

The wiring will be done from the roof down the passenger side of the windshield and covered by wire hider for a seamless look.
I have the Powerswitch and the lightbar... waiting on my roof rack to get this party started! How are you working the high/low beam function of the OnX6+? Does the power switch have a way to control that or will you just leave the manual high/low beam switch on high and run them on high all the time?

Any other tips on install/wiring?

I haven't received the equipment yet so haven't done any work. I'm expecting it soon so will provide an update as soon as I'm finished.
