Skid Plate

Saw chassis video on OT+ and there is a composite plate covering the front skid plate. Different. It also looks like armor stops before transfer case. Video narrator said additional armor for other components are in the accessory catalog Didn't say when available. Anybody hear anything about this?

I can confirm that I have an Overtrail+ and it has the composite plate that says Lexus upfront and yes it stops before the transfer case. The gas tank has some light sheet metal that protects it, but it isn't something you want to drag on the rocks. I'll snap some pics real quick if I can.

The very front, with little metal shield connecting to bumper and then start of the composite.

Is there any information on the overtrail wheel part numbers and it’s size and offset
Don't have a part number but this is the specs for the Overtrail Wheels

18x7.5 +50 offset
  • Center Bore / Hub Bore: 95.1 mm
  • Bolt Pattern: 6x139.7
  • Wheel Fasteners: Lug nuts
  • Thread Size: M14 x 1.5

Thanks for this information and sorry for being ignorant about this but does this mean that the catalytic converter isn’t covered by this composite plate?

NYTOP has a skid plate option that covers the cats: 2024-Current Lexus GX550 Skid Plate Assembly — NYTOP | Not Your Typical Original Parts

Victory has something similar: GX Transmission & Catalytic Converter Skid Plate - Victory 4x4

I don't have either, I'm trying to figure out how they work with existing OT skids. NYTOP has one option to add the cat option by replacing the back section of the OT skids.
I've been watching those two companies for their products to release. NYTOP only has computer-generated products so far (although I have seen a video with actual NYTOP rock rails on a GX500). The Victory 4x4 skid plates you linked are for the older Lexus GXs. I'm sure both companies will produce good products, just waiting for them to actually make some and put them up for sale!

I stand corrected....just visited the NYTOP website they have added real photos of their skid plates! They look good.

And they have pics of their sliders on the GX550 too.

I wonder is the skid plat extender would work with our OEM skid plates?
That's where it gets confusing....I'd hate to remove and set aside perfectly good skid plates so that I can spend about $1500 to $2,000 on another manufacturer's proprietary skid plates just so they will all fit together perfectly.

That being said, a full-skidded undercarriage is a nice thing to have. The NYTOP full skid package is beautiful. I wonder if they'd make a set without their goofy acronym plastered everywhere. Here was my LR4 skid setup:

I agree, I might just keep looking. I would like to extend mine before I do anything real radical, but first I am going to go ahead with the wheels, tires and lift.
