I took the entire roof rack off. Just have the side rails now. It's super quiet now compared to before. I ran into another OT owner this weekend in Southlake. She too, is very unhappy with the wind noise on the highway. I volunteered to help her husband take it off.
Just took my OT to Lubbock and back for a 600+ mile trip. Drove 5 over the speed limit most of the time on Eco. Speed limit was 75 most of the way. Ended up with 18.7mpg.
I haven't tried to turn them off. I frequently drive with my left hand at 12 o'clock and it does put some words up, but doesn't beep at me. I'm at 2500 miles and I'm very happy with 99% of the vehicle, since I removed the roof rack. If I can just make my mind up about tires/leveling kit........
I think you can turn all of those off. Mine has braked for the a couple times, both in the driveway when I got too close to the bushes lining my fence. It wasn't wrong as I was already hitting the soft branches. I've had 4Runners, Tacoma, Tundra and my wife currently has a 460. You will love...
I took mine off in 30 minutes and it's been the best and only mod I've made so far. My wife has a '22 GX and I agree, it's a much more aerodynamic design, but I much prefer the boxy look of the 550.
We are renting one of these while on vacation in Park City Utah. This thing has 479HP and is an absolute beast on the highway....So damn fun to drive. Make the engine in my 550 feel like a 10 speed bike!! We've owned a 330, X5, Z4 and an X4. This is the first V8 Beemer i've ever driven and...
I spoke to the folks at Park Place Lexus yesterday and they've installed a few of them. Nothing but good things to say and most importantly, keeps your warrant in tact. But I'm not paying them 4K to do it.......
I went to see my dad for his 89th birthday yesterday. I reset the meter, put in in Eco mode and drove the speed limit for about 160 miles. It made it to 20MPG. Otherwise, with my daily city driving in Normal mode, it gets 15.5.
I'm pretty sure my wife had mine doing the split screen last week.......but I didn't see how she did it. Hell, I just figured out how to customize the display and I've had it 6 weeks.
A reliable source told me about an email received this week indicates all GX's from this point forward will be fitted with a new roof rack rather than the current wind sail they currently use.
This one was spoken for and she can keep it that way if someone wants to avoid the wait. When I committed to buying mine, it was already on the ship, headed this way.
Even the Globetrotter was small on the inside. I only want to camp when the temp is good for being outside the trailer. Sleep, eat, shower inside, LIVE outside. In a perfect world.
That looks great!! We just sold our 30' Globetrotter. We may look into one of these smaller campers after I retire and have time to take advantage of it.
