We have a performance EV sedan that is wonderful for commuting. And if the wife is willing to deal with me playing race driver, amazing to take up to our place in the mountains over a high alpine pass. But it will probably be years before I take it on a road trips again. Just too easy to get...
Also, the pricing ladder makes more sense for Toyota's off-road focused BOF vehicles.
4Runner TRD Off Road - $49k
4Runner TRD Off Road Premium - $55k
Landcruiser 1958 - $57K
Landcruiser Base - $63k
4 Runner TRD Pro / Trailhunter - $68k
Landcruiser Premium - $69k
GX OT - $73K.
If you kept GX...
Don't forget "prewired auxiliary switches and an onboard air compressor become standard on the Overtrail and Overtrail+ grades". It is a big jump, but doesn't completely surprise me given how much more equipment is on the Overtrail versus the Prem+.
I am a bit surprised as well. I thought they were possibly waiting due to the uncertainties around the cost of importing goods to the US. They released the '25 4Runner pricing yesterday, so they seem to be moving forward with pricing announcements again. Hopefully, there will be minimal...
Also, I didn't answer your direct question: it is not known when the 2025 build link will be up. I have seen speculation that the 2025s will be delivered from the end of January to the end of June.
Sort of good news. Lexus (and Toyota) don't do specific builds. They standardize their production process by pre-determining what vehicle trims, options, and colors they will build, which reduces production variation to improve quality and/or cut costs. Dealerships get what they get regarding...
They must be. End of Q2 means Lexus would be producing 2024's into April or May, or stop the production all together on a vehicle that is basically presold.
I think white is my favorite, and I love the way yours looks, @Bluegill. I have, at times, wanted flat grey, silver, and green as my first choice. I love the Stormtrooper look, especially with the aftermarket rack, which will be an immediate purchase for us. The first car I really loved was...
I will be very picky until after the 1st of the year for a MY24. I will get by just fine this winter with my current vehicles. If I somehow didn't have one by May, I'd probably jump ship for a Yukon or a LC, really want it for summer rafting and overlanding which my current vehicles don't...
They are indeed. $1000 for a tracker that I wouldn't want for free. Hoping the Springs dealership can get me what I want. Appreciate their approach so far.
I talked to a few dealerships in KS and they were only doing local sales then. But I'll be looking a few states away after the 1st of the...
In June for a prem+, I was told 4-6 months by Co Springs, 6 mo by Greenwood and initially 8 mo by Stevinson which was updated to three years when i called in August to get an update by a sales person who was angry as soon as I said GX waitlist.
I was hoping for a December arrival with that...
Still baffled by the omission of overhead vents, especially since the LC has them.
Also surprised to learn the cold area package isn't available in the OT. Is it missing the other features of the cold area package too?
What's New for 2025?
In its sophomore season, the redesigned GX550 sees only minor changes to its standard equipment. A power-adjustable steering column is now standard across the lineup, and all GX models come with memory settings for the driverโs seat, steering wheel, and outside mirrors. The...
Do you drive up against much brush or small trees in that part of Texas? Incognito is on my list of colors, but I am unsure how it will hold up to pinstriping on a trail, and I don't plan on doing a full-car PPF. I am looking at ceramic and some PPF on the front, though.
I would love to get...
I would go with whatever you like the looks of, works with your time line or comes in the color you want.
With that said, for your use case which is similar to mine it does not sound like the ekds and extra differential will be used. I opted for the quieter prem+ with the synthetic leather...
Thanks for putting this together! Also, it is great that you included shipping to Denver; very helpful.
I haven't seen pricing, but the Rhino-Rack Reconn will be one to add. It might be worth throwing the OEM option in for a frame of reference.
I would love any guidance on whether the racks...
I find Toyota's hybrid strategy for trucks, which biases towards performance rather than fuel savings, interesting. Before I narrowed down on the GX, we were looking at the Tundra, and the hybrid just didn't make sense to me, given how capable the standard powertrain is for modest fuel savings...
Our RAV4Prime has this issue and drives me crazy on road trips. It goes to 0 with over 3 gallons left. Especially annoying because my wife then starts getting anxious... I wish there was an aftermarket solution or you know Toyota/Lexus treated us like adults who don't need a 100 mile buffer.
I think you have a pretty good frame of reference, are you using the TRD Pro to the limits and wish it was more capable? If so the OT is likely what you want. If you feel like the TRD Pro is overkill and wish it had better on road manners or a third row, then the Premium+ is the way to go. The...
For whatever it is worth, the sales guy I trust the most said they don't know. And to watch for when the 4Runner starts production as they pull from the same parts supply. If they delay the '25 4Runner, then the '25 GX should be hitting the US in December.
I am hoping they release the details...
The dealership I trust the most says they can not. They can change port options early in the process. The other two dealerships I have talked with are more vague about port options but likewise can't do anything on factory.
