It does seem like 2 seperate issues brewing. You might try sending a pm to "sroberts" who was able to get her's fixed with the full brake system replacement. Have you been able to test drive a GX that doesn't have the vibration issues at your dealer? Being In NoCal I would think you'd have a...
Being a longtime Porsche owner I’m familiar with the example you sighted. IMHO it’s too early for Lexus/Toyota to get involved knowing they’ll wait it out until cases start piling up. If by “coming together” you mean troubleshooting and finding the root cause, I think it’s a great idea. I think...
IMHO no but the rotor could be the culprit if they were warped from the get go. The shim and anti rattle spring updates would more likely address the squeal.
I'm not sure if it was me that assumed the calipers where being replaced or "sroberts" mentioned it. Looking at the parts list the calipers were not replaced. Video below details the job on a Tundra and shares the same part list. Now I'm doubting the caliper has anything to do with it. Round...
I initially thought the same but so much is “lost in translation” when folks are describing what “they feel”. Sticking Caliper piston could and does translate to a shudder or vibration feeling. PTV and sticky caliper piston are two totally different concepts/conditions.
I don't think vehicles are being held at the Port. I passed on the first option my dealer had in favor of waiting for a later allocation with Black Onyx roof. It landed in Long Beach Port yesterday and is sitting on my dealers lot as of an hour ago. Back surgery scheduled for Tues. so won't...
30 minutes per wheel with proper lift, air tools and pressure bleeder. I’ve done several complete rotor rebuilds which are far more involved. I have no idea what the work bay setup looks like at the average “port” facility though.
Congrats! We share a lot in common. I’m keeping my Macan however and looking forward to my first Lexus. Glad to hear your GX doesn’t suffer any of the early issues some are reporting.
Considering there is a chance the calipers are defective from the factory I wouldn’t modify them in any way.

If I were Lexus/Toyota I wouldn’t be mucking around and slow playing anything to do with faulty brakes. This could get outta hand real quick considering the safety implications.
Couple more things to look out for. Visual check your rotors by jacking up each wheel independently. Not sure if the gx can be turned off in neutral but if yes do so and spin each wheel to check for caliper piston drag against the rotor. This will be very audible. Sticking caliper will take out...
Vib. In the rear vs front falls inline with one or both rear caliper pistons not retracting but fronts working normal. Intermittent vib. falls inline with pistons occasionally sticking but sometimes getting out of the way just enough to have no contact. Liking this the more I think about it...
Excellent info here! This is sounding more like sticking caliper pistons. If either the bore or piston are faulty and not retracting could cause chatter which could easily be felt in the cabin as vibration. This makes more sense and falls inline with what we already know fixed “sroberts”...
You mention in your test drive of the premium it was noticeably smoother. The premium is a non KDSS/AVS setup vs yours which is a standard shock. This is sounding like it could simply be the difference in how these two suspensions ride. Luxury+ also has AVS but no sway disconnect.
