Blackline purchase fell through. Ended up getting a 2023 premium cpo with 1300 miles for 54k! I’m so happy with it. Whenever the GX550 is in its last year I’ll probably do the same and keep both. Thanks all.
Regarding buying used; I purchased my 2022 Tesla Model Y Performance for 82k otd. Two weeks later Elon graciously decided to reduce the price of a new Model Y 20k, plus another 7500 in government rebates. You could say I got extremely fucked over lol.
Fast forward two years later with market...
For what it’s worth, I’ve been having multiple dealers who have since been selling at markup now contact me trying to sell at MSRP, with many GX in stock.
This is interesting because only a couple weeks ago they were acting stingy and very conservative about their allocations.
I’m not sure...
Interesting choice of specs. Why not drop down to a 17 inch instead? I don’t see a reason to swap from the overtrail size and offset if you were to stay at an 18. Also interesting to point out the need for a bigger caliper. I don’t think that’s necessary. Doesn’t rays sell those sizes already?
Well the 460 crowd usually does a -10 offset and have had success with 35s. That’s with a 2.0 or higher king or fox or similar. There’s an lc250 on Instagram with kings and camburg arms that’s running 35s. And the wescott with trd tundra complements running a 37. If you stayed within the +20-+35...
That’s cool. Well anything under a +50 is going to be more aggressive. You’d be more inclined to research lifts and clearances if you wanted to with that route.
I’m thankful to have a dealer near me that will sell me a GX at msrp. But I was curious and started to shop around to see what other inventory was coming in the next few months. I was astonished that almost every dealer is selling at steep markups.
For starters, most of SoCal dealers and NorCal...
Looks great. I really want to know the impact on articulation though. And if you could have done this without a lift. Maybe 34s with no lift is the max.
Awesome to hear MPG hasn't really been affected. Seems like a win win if the same articulation and the ability for no lift can work!
Enjoy! Still waiting for my white allocation. They told me white is about a year out!? Shopped around other dealers and they are getting a few white OT in but with markups. Sigh
Driving the GX550 demo car I didn't really care for the sunroof. IMO if allocations ever come about where you can pick to have a sunroof or not I'd probably save the extra $1000 for the delete
I wish rack companies would post data to show things like, increased nvh values in db, decrease in mpg figures, static weight and price upfront. Hype is all good and all but I would appreciate that information
If we get enough people that want TE37XT we can send a request to a shop like system Motorsports and they can probably get a special run in for a custom size that fits the GX. They usually do that. I think it’s the only way for Rays to make custom sizes
David was a production engineer who conducted evaluations and supply chain monitoring and consulting. He is not a chemical engineer or automotive engineer specializing in engines. Albeit, he is a great resource on YouTube, but he's not a be all end all. Like my peers here, he recommend shorter...
I’m not going to die on a hill here. Do what you please. This is just my suggestion to follow the manual.
Your 10k rated oil is not going to oxidize right at 10k or less. There’s no need to change it earlier, even if there’s particulate in the oil. Just my 2 cents.
If you’re having that much...
To be fair he never backed up his claims with any data, he just says it’s going to double the live span of the vehicle. I’m all about finding someone else that validates your feelings, but if there is no science or data behind those claims, it’s just fear mongering.
The oem might be the right play. Has a part number and is dealer supported. Wonder how warranty will hold when a customer comes back needing a new slider after a fun weekend 😂
It’s ten speed manners. If you never had a ten speed it might be a little jarring. The tune on these trans can’t always predict every scenario, no matter how good their algorithms are. You will evidently experience some sort of gear hunting or judder from time to time.
Bean counters? You think Toyota who’s been making turbo engines since 80s are writing manuals to please bean counters? You can change your oil whenever you want. I don’t think it’s necessary to do it. Just follow the manual lol.
I don’t think it’s the time and place for me to say this, but I’m...
Yeah because you’re going against what the engineers put in the manual. It’s backed by science. Chemical engineers and automotive engineers came to these interval conclusions. It’s just my opinion.
I obviously don’t do this in my track Camaro, that vehicle gets fluid flushed after every track...
Don’t ever buy a Tesla lol! Trust me I’ve owned two of them. Fantastic vehicles but terrible value to them and the QC issues are very bad. Very safe car though
