Honestly don’t know exactly when it happened, I’m at 5k miles today. I’ve tried several different cleaning items and the white specs have not come out yet.

I don’t drink anything but water in my car. Car has only been out of my possession twice for ceramic coat and then windows tinting.

Could this be defect and if not what could be the cause?

I have one spot like that on my drivers side door. Was there when I took delivery.

My theory is it’s the seatbelt metal knocking against the door when the seatbelt is unbuckled and withdraws, lightly scraping it.

Oh wow. I hadn't thought of that but you may be on to something. I will test. Wild that it would damage so easily from seat belt if true.

Hang on to that seat belt!

The 200 series LC has a little clip to slide that metal seat belt connector into so it doesn’t bounce around and make noise at the back seats.

In the GX, I just keep my back seat belts hooked up all the time, and don’t let the seatbelt withdraw at the front seats, holding onto it and resting it once it recoils.

Sheesh. Lesson learned, I'm always darting out of the car. I assume its doubtful I can get any relief from Lexus as a design flaw?

Have you taken it in to a detail shop?

I’ve noticed the if you don’t reset the seat belts in the back, they hang and move around like crazy (bumping everything).

I make the kids check it everytime they get out.

Never had that issue in any other vehicle #FirstGenIssues

I have this exact same issue. The dealer is replacing the panel under warranty. I will take a picture of mine if that is helpful. They balked at first and said it was the seat belt hitting it, but the manager agreed it wasn’t
