Best floor mats for my wet use?

I fly fish and when I do I hop into the GX with wet waders and boots and drive to the next stretch, sometimes all day long. Often I am driving in the mountains and off-road.

This means the OEM formats do not hold the water in them - spent time this afternoon drying and disinfecting the carpet underneath the front floor mats which were soaked.

Do any of the aftermarket floor liners do a better job of holding water?

Had a similar experience while skiing.

I also like to use a really absorbent cloth like a backpackers towel on top of my all weather mats to soak up water, then can ring it out at the next pull out or hang it up to dry while fishing.

My OE GX winter floor mats seem fine.

Guess it depends how many gallons of water you expect them to hold. I recommend kicking the mud/snow off before getting in regardless?

Do they contain a lot of water well? The pics online make it seem like they don’t have much of a lip towards the door and seat? The pics aren’t all that clear. View attachment 9187
In the 4Runner they cover up and over the "hump" under the seat, but no, there's no pronounced lip along the door. Just the fact that they sit on top of the door sill. I wouldn't want more than that.

I don't want any scenario where I create a bucket of fishing sludge that stays in the car after I open the door.

Agree, I think the OT mats are quite good. Like with previous rubber mats, I always kick the snow off my boots before heading out. Hate having a small pond of melt on the mats…And my fishing wader boots are so darn big/clunky with either felt or studded soles I never drive even a short distance wearing em.

I do like the OEM mats for every day use but have found that even if I kick off snow (and mud which I don’t care as much about) I get enough water on them that when I drive hills the water finds its way to the carpet. I will try the suggested camp towel first.
