Brakes jerk or lock up when coming to a slow stop

I saw someone post it a while back but wanted to see if anybody has had this happen now that there’s more GX out there.

It’s annoying, feels like being rear-ended every time I come to a slow stop. Doesn’t happen when I have to stop suddenly.

A friend said it could be a rotor problem but this soon? I just hit 4,500 miles.

I have the same experience however it’s not the brakes I think, it’s the transmission shifting down to 1st gear late or sometimes when it comes to complete stop.

Its likely your transmission and not brakes. Slowing down to 1-3 MPH, my transmission noticeably hard shifts down to first gear causing what feels like a thud/jerk. Is what you’re feeling consistent with what is discussed in the other thread mentioned above?

I had a very weird (but great) experience after I took it in for service.

Basically they did the 5,000 mile checkup and called me to say the brake/transmission issue couldn’t be replicated. They asked if I could take it for a test drive with them to pinpoint the problem.

I did and it was gone, not happening anymore. I didn’t understand why or how it was fixed. They said all they did was the 5k service which included tire rotation.

So I guess it’s fixed. I’m happy but confused. Glad it’s gone.

I'm baffled by all of the nagging issues with the GX, yet I haven't seen anywhere near as many issues with the new LC 250. What is going on at Lexus?
That’s why I opted for the 10yr/100k mile extended warranty. 1st model year will always have more issues. I luckily haven’t had any issues so far at 900 miles in, but it’s a small price to pay for the security in my opinion.

OK. And Toyota apparently got theirs right and Lexus fumbled?
I don’t own a LC, but your post got me curious so i went to toyota LC problems forum and it looks like they suffer similar problems with squealing breaks and tranny issues. See link below:
