Today when I was removing the skid plate and changing oil for the overtrail, I noticed one metal frame piece was rubbing against the skid plate bolt at the front driver side and making a “clunk” sound. The issue was the hole on the metal frame piece was not aligned with the skid plate bolt hole. I loosened the metal frame and re-aligned the hole.

I do occasionally hear a “clunk” sound from the front of the car when accelerating from a stop. I wonder if this was the source of the sound. Would need few days to confirm if the sound disappears.

If you determine it’s not what you thought, perhaps check your driveshaft. I had clunk noises and discovered that it wasn’t properly libricated from the factory. There’s a grease fitting on the bottom of the driveshaft that is easy to add grease.
