Since the original post mentioned luxury tax in Australia, thought I would chime in and say here in Canada, the luxury tax is 20% on any amount over $100k CAD. So if the truck costs $110k, you pay 20% on $10k, if $150k, you pay 50% on $50k. And all this on top of the sales tax, for us here in Montreal, Quebec, that amounts to 15% provincial and federal combined. So not cheap to buy a new car or truck here, especially luxury ones.

Hello All,

Took delivery of my new Sports Luxury two weeks ago.

Very happy with it, have clocked up about 1,000 miles or 1,600 km in that time, was shocked at initial fuel consumption, of 15 mpg or 16l/100km, but this has come down with a combination of highway (now averaging 19 mpg or 12.5l/100km.

Don't get me wrong I love the way it drives and how quick it is, how precisely it steers compared to my 200 series LC.

The safety sense is pleasant surprise as to how un-intrusive it is, and lane keep compared to the 300 series works as it should. In fact all the bings and bongs are just right, compared to anything German.

It's looks great and gets lots of attention wherever it goes, it's distinct enough to not be mistaken for the Prado 250 series.

I understand from my Lexus dealer however, that there are still only very few of the Sports Luxury coming to Australia. Production is still prioritise for the strong US market.

My only comment is that 22in wheels are not great for off road, even rougher roads, i.e. typical country Australian roads. I think I will put something smaller with AT tyres on it as some point.

Some pics attached, from recent trips, of course in Australia all you see is 300 series, here it is sandwiched between a GR and GXL on the ferry back from Ballina South in Northern New South Wales. It's looks equally good next to a BMW :)

Congratulations mate, looks very good. I am getting the same color as well.

Anyone have further updates on recent allocations to Australia? I've been told only 1,250 were allocated at first and those went straight away. I put an order in for a luxury in October last year and the dealership can't tell me anything. If the same amount is allocated again, the delay on getting one will be years!

I ordered mine in March 2024 the last time I heard from Lexus was 7th of February to say that my Sport Luxury was at sea.

Did the dealer give you an indication when you first put your deposit down on wait times? Mine said I would see it in less then 6 months because it was the base model and the standard black colour. Now that i've been told of the original allocation for the whole of Australia, I can't imagine it coming anytime soon. Surely Lexus can increase the allocation if they have so many dealerships holding onto buyers deposits.

The Luxury is the base model then Overtrail and Sport Luxury when I ordered mine it was October 2024 then February 2025 now they said about the 20th of March, mine is dark blue with hazel interior my dealer offered me a white one with black interior but declined it this is my last vehicle before retirement.
