GX550 Low Fuel Gas Warning Light?? Where is it?

Low fuel warning does not show up on the HUD or the infotainment system. Its a bit of a problem since my GX alerts me about driver distraction 10x more than it does for something as obvious as low fuel.
Seems easy enough to change in software, wish they'd do something about it.

Wrong it does show up as a pop up message on left hand corner of the big screen. Regardless, not showing up in the hud is ridiculous complaints, when you have an audible noise, 2 pop messages, yellow fuel light and fuel gauge with a big "E"

Okay, honestly getting annoyed. It’s bad enough that a full tank is less than 300 miles (it showed 290 miles full tank both fill ups) and my average mpg is only 16.4 with 50% highway miles… BUT I don’t see any type of low fuel warning light. I looked down today and discovered 32 miles left- no warning lights no indicators. What am i missing? Does anyone know? I checked every setting and couldn’t find anything. Even my Subaru gives me warnings and says- low fuel “would you like me to find the nearest gas station?” Is there seriously not anything?!
This is the most ridiculous post I can't even...

Every car in existence that has an estimated fuel range, doesn't just run out of gas when it reaches "0". There is always 2-3 gallons left.

BMW dings and shows messages at 50 miles to refuel and every 10 miles increment after that. That's probably something you expected, I find it very annoying.

There is a fuel gauge, please glance at it, every drive, that will give you an idea of when to refuel. If not driving, look in the app, it also shows the fuel gauge.

Make it a habit to refuel once a week, on a weekend for example, even if you have half a tank left. It will give you full tank for the busy work week.

There is loud ding around at 12 miles left, and a message and yellow fuel indicator light. What more do you need?

Just refuel when its less than a 100 miles left no one is forcing you to drive to 0. And don't tell me about an indicator, its already indicated on the screen permanently, just glance down. You don't gotta dig through the different options like other cars and past GX460

I'm beginning to enjoy the fuel gauge game. It's fun because, as a gauge, it's completely useless once you hit zero miles remaining and it displays empty. Then the game begins.....how much fuel do I really have left? Four gallons? Three? Two? Hell if I know because the fuel gauge has left the party!

Wow! Wasn’t looking for an attack. This was posted in May- before anyone had even driven these. Every car I’ve owned in my entire life gives you an accurate miles left before empty.

I did not want to drive until zero. I was just looking for an indicator. The whole point is there is no accuracy. Zero miles left is NOT zero miles left. Also most cars give you a pop up notice. Even my Subarus are higher tech! Hey you have 40 miles left- a pop up on the screen. Would you like me to locate the nearest gas station?

Lexus you have 0 miles left- oh wait that’s actually like 50 but we prefer to complicate it. Oh and we will pop a tiny light on the dash between 5-12 miles. I still have never seen the indicator because i don’t drive my cars that low on gas.

The post was made before I even realized how Lexus did this with several gallons left it the tank. Maybe you have owned cars that did this before but as the owners of 4 Subarus and a Tahoe- they ALL show accurate miles left and give you valid warnings. Lexus has a totally different strategy and unless you owned one you probably didn’t know.

So rather than being arrogant and making fun of people maybe consider that Lexus gas tank indicators are handled different than other brands.

I have read dozens of complaints about the low fuel warning so regardless of your statement many people are having the same issue, including my wife. There is a warning but obviously most people don't see it and it is not effective. It needs to be fixed in its design,

You say there's a pop up message on the big screen? Wrong. At least not on mine.
My point is that I get dinged for "driver inattention" for rubbing my eyes, so "one ping only" for low fuel sucks.

You know that you can at least turn off the audio ping for driver attention, don't you? You'll still get the visual message pop-up on your dash display but at least no whiny pinging! You have to dive into one of the driver aid sub-menus to do it.

Message popped up last night on the center screen for us approximately a few miles past zero miles till empty. It switches to "refuel." If the fuel gauge showing nothing along with a "refuel" text isn't enough heads up I don't know what else anybody can do.

Despite going a bit past the zero miles per empty stage, I only pumped 18 gallons in the truck. With a 21 gallon tank that's a solid 45 miles (we average 15 mpg) before it's completely out which is reasonable.

Every car and motorcycle I've owned, the miles until empty has always been a conservatively set, otherwise you'll have folks posting about getting stranded. I've had vehicles that simply had a fuel gauge without a low fuel indicator light and somehow glancing at the gauge and knowing how many miles I've driven on the current tank was enough information for me to determine I was low on fuel.

That's good to know. My cars have usually displayed the fuel light at about 50 miles range left. Your description sounds spot on with a 50 mile warning.
