🧑‍💻 GX550 Tech Tips and Tricks

Does anyone know why sometimes the car will beep once and other times it will beep several times when locking? Confirmed all doors are firmly closed.
It will beep 8 times if you have previously opened either back door, to remind you that you might have a baby back there that you forgot about. There’s a way to turn that off, but even after that, I still find that it beeps sometimes. Assuming there is another reason, or reasons, for all the beeping. Hoping to get all this mess turned off soon. Planning to get CARISTA to do that, but they do t have the 550 listed yet as supported vehicles.

Thank you! This makes sense. Better to have that feature than not, I guess.

hopefully more features get added on to Carista once it is officially supported. The only dings that can change right now are seat belt reminders

Will the GX be getting OTA updates to the operating system? I've been curious if we can expect updates to flow without going to the dealer, where they may patch some bugs or improvements (or even new features).

Lexus does issue OTA updates. As to whether the GX will be getting any, only Lexus can say. Here's a video by Lexus describing the OTA update process.

Nice thanks for the details. This is my first Lexus and wasn't sure if they did OTA.

YW. I don't even have my GX yet - still on the waiting list. And this will also be my first Lexus, but my parents have had 3 Lexuses so I'm familiar with them.

That said. If you are expecting Tesla like major changes you will be disappointed.

Lexus isn’t really trying to be bleeding edge. OTA updates are going to be reserved for minor changes that are likely unnoticeable .

Agreed. Personally I'm just hoping for some sort of quick setting page for the massage seats. But even that may be too much.

I wish they would update the two up view of the tach and speedometer to change the speedometer range from 0-160 to 0-120. If the truck has a controlled max of 109mph why does the speedo go to 160? You have to drive 80mph just to get the speedo to get to the halfway point.
