Heat/vent issues

I recently purchased a GX 550 Overtrail Plus and am having trouble with the heating system. It doesn’t seem to blow enough air, the heated seats don’t get very warm, and it takes a long time for the car to heat up. I’m curious if anyone else has experienced these issues and if Lexus was able to resolve them.

Heated seats are just weak compared to others I have had. The heat does work pretty quickly for me - make sure your concierge or other automatic settings are not on.

They are really weak, I do live in colder climate and after 10 minutes of warming up the vehicle there is still no heat. It takes about 20 minutes to really warm up. Concerning to spend all this money on a vehcile that doesn't provides proper heat.

In reply to the comment about "low air flow" in the GX550 Overtrail. I just received my new 24 Overtrail earlier this week. In sitting for the first time in the vehicle, I went through a few things on the dash - learning how to operate a few things. I too noticed the A/C seems to not produce much air flow. I tried to maximize the air flow but still air flow seemed very low. As to the seat - my butt got very warm quickly and I searched for how to turn the seat heat down/off. A quicker lesson learned out of necessity.

I haven't tried the air conditioner, but I wonder to cut on costs to build if they eliminated some of the vents that provide heat/air. I did discover there are no upper vents in the back, just ones behind the console. Guests riding in the back do get cold, that does not provide adequate heat. It would be interesting to know if the luxury version of this has the same issues. I will be bringing it in to Lexus in a couple of weeks, they are aware of my concerns. I will update if there are any solutions.

It seems to have pretty low air flow on all settings. If the eco hvac is enabled (does this automatically every time drive mode is switched to eco) then air flow seems to be limited further.

An answer(s) may be found in the Owner's manual, begin on page 412, Lexus Climate Concierge, or just locate the section 5.1, Lexus Climate Concierge, and read the discussion/how to steps to make changes to the settings of the Climate controls. It is an eye opener for me and I never had a clue as to what Lexus may go to increase gas mileage/reduce fuel consumption. The controls are set as though the interior can isolate heating/air to a driver OR to a passenger, front or rear. Wow!
When you see "Eco" you need to pay attention as to what happens to the A/C and heating AND the fan operation AND the seat heating/cooling. Good Luck.

Additional comments on Heat/Air Flow Issues
I opened the Climate settings. Turned to OFF all the options/switches.
I then raised and lowered the Left temperature control and the fan blew lots more flow. I turned on Auto on the climate panel, left side just above the left Temperature control and the fan varied as I raised the temperature for heat, then lowered the temperature for cold. I went into the back and checked flow and there was quite a bit more air flow in the back now.
If you read the car manual beginning page 412, you can get a lot of info on how the a/c heat system works and as far as I'm concerned - the system is screwed up. I'm in the southeast and we get hot - I don't think a fully automatic a/c system such as this Lexus has would cut it as it comes out.

Thanks for your comments about the air system. I will read the manual and check out the settings. My heated seats do not get warm so I am hoping this will help.

Seats are warm enough for me but air flow sucks. I wonder if there is any way to replace or juice up the fans.

I do see significant improvement in air conditioning (not sure about heating) if I am NOT in Eco mode. I created a Custom mode with Eco engine for MPG and not Eco for Climate Control.
