I have a Liftmaster Gate Opener Model CSW24UL which has a "Learn" button used to sync gate/garage openers to it. It works well with the hand held size openers and with other vehicle's Home Link units in the past but won't connect with the Home Link unit in our 2024 GX 550 despite trying repeatedly using the owner's manual instructions. Anybody have any suggestions?

I have the same problem. I am interested in a fix. I am currently using the remote in my car which seems silly!
GOT IT! Homelink People don't understand their own product. Once a Homelink button (these days) is synced to a receiver, it cannot be synced to another receiver using the same button. (European garage thefts prompted this a few years ago). So, completely deprogram all three buttons on your Homelink in the vehicle. Leave one button "un-programmed" to any garage door or receiver. Take a handheld remote operator and sync it first to your gate opener using the gate opener's Learn and Open button. Then, sync it to an unprogrammed button on your vehicles Homelink unit per instructions in the GX owner's manual. Last, using the "Learn" button and "open" button on the gate opener and hold down the unprogrammed Homelink button within 30 seconds AND until it begins flashing green. Works for me! Learned this with help from an Audi dealership a few years ago. You may not have to deprogram all three Homelink buttons in order to re-program one of them but whichever one you use to sync with the gate opener will no longer work to any other receiver or garage door in all likelihood. Bottom line: Homelink Buttons do more than simply send a signal these days . . . they retain information from a given receiver and will only work with that receiver.

Are you sure the gate opener is a Home Link system. I had this issue with my new Genie garage door opener. I had to use my garage door remote control to train the GX550 Home Link button first and then I was able to use the link button on the opener with that button on the mirror. You have to train the Home Link button on the mirror to not use Home Link basically and to uses a rolling code type system instead.

On the GX mirror the Home Link light shows orange when pushed if it is Home Link and green when it is not Home Link (rolling code). The instructions in the manual explain this but it is really not clear and I had to re-read it many times before I understood what it was saying to do. I had this same issue with my son-n-laws Toyota Tundra trying to get it to work with my garage door opener.

Read page 454 and 455 of the GX owner's manual carefully for the instructions.

I had to use the garage clicker too and I have the OT+ and it was super simple. I never needed to hit the ‘Learn’ button on my garage door so not sure it’s needed.
