I just installed the Peak Performance 1.25" top hat spacer to level my Overtrail. I think it turned out great and I am really happy with the results. I have leveled numerous trucks including my 4Runner, F250, F150 and Tacoma. I do not like the look, or performance, of raked truck - higher in the back then front. Vehicles come this way because manufacturers think they get better mileage. I have never seen an appreciable difference in mpg in any truck I have leveled, not lifted.

Any tips on removing the shocks to install the top spacers?

You don’t need to remove the shock assembly entirely. The control arm drops enough to where you can slip in the spacer. That's all I had to do when I installed mine.
Cool, I made some of my own spacers that are only 8mm thick and will install these today.
