Is Incognito / solid gray a fad color?

Do you think that the solid gray body color is a fad? I believe Lexus introduced incognito in the IS 500 in 2023. Many other automakers rolled out their version of solid gray several years back. Some look ok while others appear tacky. I like how Lexus is only offering it on a few select vehicles. Its contrast with black accents just really makes the vehicle pop. For me I was deciding between Atomic silver and incognito (with black roof). I want something different since my current 4Runner is silver and previous 4Runner was champagne. Hence, I chose incognito. Hope it’s not a fad and becomes a part of the primary color selections like white, silver, black etc. Thoughts?

I have a GX550 + Incognito have many compliments on the color everyone has their choice don’t care if it’s a fad it was the right choice for me

Can’t go wrong with neutral colors. Not like this is a skittles color which imo is more fad-y. The bigger issue is that everyone and their mom has a shade of flat gray now. Hah. I still love the contrast with black. And the fact it has no chrome anywhere.

I get nothing but compliments on my Incognito/Onyx OT. I see people taking pics of it all the time lol. Its a great color for the GX IMO

Having lived in the Texas hill country and raising horses I always bought white trucks. They don't show the dirt as much especially when your driving on kalachi roads all day long. I really didn't have a choice on my GX. There was only one and there were 90 buyers on the waiting list and if I wanted one then. It was Incognito and my wife loved it. She said it was her favorite color. I have got many compliments on the color and I am finally getting to like it. It doesn't show much dirt and with a ceramic coating its easy to keep clean. I haven't seen a color I do not like and we all have different taste. I just wouldn't want black, its beautiful but too hard to keep clean

Do you drive up against much brush or small trees in that part of Texas? Incognito is on my list of colors, but I am unsure how it will hold up to pinstriping on a trail, and I don't plan on doing a full-car PPF. I am looking at ceramic and some PPF on the front, though.

I would love to get the white as well, but that seems to be the hardest color to get at my dealership. Incognito and nori seem to be the two most available options (along with black, which is not a color I would go for).

I live in San Diego now. We retired here on the beach. I’ve taken it out on off-road trails but try to avoid cactus and brush. I’m not really a serious off roader so I can’t attest to how it would hold up. But if you can’t get white, incognito or earth tan might be good alternatives. I do get a lot of compliments on the color
