I am going to swap out my Luxury Plus wheels for the Overtrail ones. I can find set of 4 for sale no problem but I really want to swap out all 5. I bought a set of 4 so I’m only looking for one wheel/tire. It’s very difficult to find just one. What are you all doing about the spare? I found a place that sells just the wheel but then I have to find an oem Toyo tire, lugs, and tpms. What is everyone else doing? I don’t want to keep a 22 in luxury plus wheels as a spare.

Did the same so thought I'd share my experience (so far). Bought a set of 4 OT OEM takeoff wheels/tires/TPMS. I kept the Prem+ wheel in the spare location. A few months later I got a single OT wheel only off eBay. I think at the time it was around $200.

In a couple months I'll get 4 new tires, upsizing to 285/70R18. For the spare I'll keep the best looking stock OT wheel/tire. The shop will pull the TPMS from the current spare and put that to the eBay sourced wheel.

I wouldn't recommend trying to source an oem tire if you get a single wheel, they are garbage and wear very quickly (no shade on Toyo tires overall, just the purpose made Lexus OEM versions).

I realize having a different size spare isn't ideal and can cause damage, but if I get a flat I wouldn't expect to be on the spare for very long. Or I'd get it towed.

Good advice. Thanks for your insight.

Forgot to mention your spare doesn't use a center cap when mounted under the truck. Good luck!
Forgot to ask you. Would you know if a bigger tire will fit in the spare tire opening? I was thinking about a standard Toyo open country or the same size you are putting on. Does your new tire fit?

My understanding is 275/70R18 will fit in the spare location. There's been differing opinions on this forum about 285/70R18's fitting. Some say they do, some say they don't. Note, a larger tire as a spare will also be a bit lower to the ground.

A member of the LandCruiser forum built this spreadsheet which has been helpful in looking at tire weights and measurements. The last column on the 18" tire sheet indicates if the tire will fit in the spare location.

Awesome. Thanks again.

A Toyo Open Country EV 275/70/18 tire on the stock wheel will fit in the spare tire space under the GX. That’s what I’m running now.
