I installed this to replace the rear skip plate on my 2025 Overtrail. It is 0.25" thick (plus some welded on reinforcing bars) instead of the 0.16" thickness of the OEM part, and more importantly covers the catalytic converters. I was interested in doing this for two reasons. One is to discourage theft of the converters, and the other is to prevent vegetation I am driving over from possibly being set on fire from the hot converters. The plate was well engineered and had all the fasteners I needed plus spares. The unit was packed like it was fine china. I needed some kind of jack to support it in order to do the installation myself.

That's a nice piece. Do you have any pics of it installed? I like the idea of the skid plate covering the cats, as well as the increased thickness.

I ordered it 3/21/25 and received it on 3/26/25. It will probably be harder to remove and reinstall the front skid plate because the replacement bolts have separate washers and it may make it harder to use the keyhole openings so you might have to remove those bolts instead of just loosening them.

Thanks for posting the picture. It looks like it works fine with the stock front skid plate and it provides much better coverage - and protects the cats from theft.

Here's your picture compared to the stock Overtrail setup:

man that is pricey. Good thing I am semi-local and will be picking mine up. If it's any cheaper for me to pick it up and send it direct let me know.
Thank you, but I said screw it and ordered it this afternoon. I can't drive out to LA and back any cheaper! I already received a notice that it is shipping and it will arrive Thursday. They are on top of their stuff over there!

The reason for high shipping costs is because the skids come in a giant box with extra padding. I had to break down the box and padding to have them fit in the GX. Otherwise, the box wouldn't fit in the car.

I just picked mine up. Here is the box it came in. All the padding to make sure it makes it safely from overseas. There’s probably 6” of space on each side. I just left the box with them

I know they are pricey but the CF fender flares look really good. I got to speak to them and basically they had to do make 3 sides to the flare so it can utilize the existing clips and cover the additional gap in the wheel well

Shipping was $110. There was probably $50 of Ethafoam in the box. Those little cubes will work like packing peanuts, but are much less messy, they don't stick to things and don't blow around or shed tiny particles. The box is 37" x 44" x 10".

And my car survived a whole week without the catalytic converters being stolen :)

Ordered mine yesterday, website said it was last one on-hand. 😬 ✌️
Received an immediate confirmation email.
Then 20 mins later another email stating shipping was underway. 😀
I too am concerned about cat converter theft, esp while visiting CO Front Range region.

The cats on these trucks are as exposed as any I've ever seen. I can only imagine the expense and waiting period for replacement cats from Lexus.

A few years ago some scumbags sawed the cats off my daughter's Tacoma. Replacement cost was over $3300 at Toyota. I tried to get aftermarket cats installed but no independent shops wanted to play that game so off to the Toyota dealership it went. I filed an insurance claim and paid the $1,000 deductible and of course her rates went up.

I'm in Los Angeles and find myself parking out on the street frequently. Even without the Westcott lift, it's all too easy to get down there and get the cats. They are in a pretty open cavity with lots of room to work.

$400 for some added insurance sounds like a good deal to me. Especially in CA, where they super strict on Cat replacement.

Ughhh I hate both designs

Really good to see this design. The stock one was mounted using those two super-weak tabs, and I broke my tabs off finally after bending the hell out of the skid several times and bending it back as best I could. This one appears to bolt into the front side of the cross member?

I ordered that cat shield from NYTOP last Black Friday sale (free shipping) and I'm so glad I did! Install was a bit tougher than expected, but once on I only have to remove it for a trans service. Now I can park out on the street and know that I've slowed down any cat thieves. Otherwise, those cats are just sitting there like low-hanging fruit - ripe to pluck.

BTW - I took all those packaging cubes to a local pack&ship store for them to reuse in packaging. They happily accepted them as box filler.
