I live a few miles east of Lancaster, in SE PA, and am looking to becoming a first time Lexus owner, when and if it ever arrives at my local dealership.

As you might guess from my user name, I do a fair amount of fly fishing, and my wife and I spent 18 summers on the Yellowstone River a few miles north of Yellowstone Park. We are no longer spending the summer there, so after many years of owning Ford trucks, my wife finally talked me into buying a smaller vehicle. I bought a Subaru Outback Wilderness, and really like it but I’m having a bit of a problem adjusting to its small size.

I think a Lexus GX 550 would be a nice compromise between a full sized truck and the Subaru, so I put a down payment on the Overtrail at my local Lexus dealership at the end of January, and understand that I am 70+ something in line for it. I’m not holding my breath waiting for it, but in the meantime I also put a down payment on the new Toyota Land Cruiser.

This is my hope as well shopping these 2 (along with the Tacoma & Ranger, and we’ll see what the new 4 runner is). A full size F150 was my favorite vehicle ever & I haven’t adjusted to a small vehicle real well, but it’s necessary for the city (though everybody just drives F150’s around here anyways). Perhaps something in the middle, still large enough for the highway without being too large for the city, might just be the ticket.

I was rather surprised though when our local Lexus dealer told me they were sold out for 24 AND 25 of their allocations for the GX! Once I get a chance to sit in one & see when the hybrid is due out, I may need to actually get as far as a deposit & get in line.

I have a premium plus in white with all options coming. Dealer said it is currently being built now so approximately 2 months until it arrives.

My wife is coming from an Acura tlx. We have a 2 year old and newborn coming in May.

I’m a police officer wife is a teacher. So stretching here a little but car looks so awesome!

Chateau Interior, Mark Levinson, Heads up, Digital Key, Traffic Jam, Cool Box all added from factory. I saw 3 OT+ specs and all the FIO were identical.

PIO: Rockrails, Front Skid Plate, Middle Skid Plate, Black Emblem Overlays, Towing Ball and Key Gloves.

I’ve been tracking the ship and is due in Jacksonville on April 8! Expecting a delivery 7-10 days after.

Hello,
Just starting my research on the GX. Current daily driver is a Rang Rover Velar, other vehicle is a F350. Really like the Velar other than I boink my head crawling into the thing. It’s getting old enough now that the maintenance costs are jumping. Considering a RR Sport but Land Rovers reliability is holding us back. Last Velar issue was over a month without the car. Anyway the GX Overtrail looks interesting to me as we don’t want a 3rd row. The wife will probably push for the RR Sport as it looks a lot nicer on the inside but we’ll see after one becomes available to view. I’m not in a huge hurry.

Mike here from NY. I put a deposit down in September of 2023. Currently have an allocation for a Premium + that left Japan on March 29th. Its a car for my wife who currently drives a Toyota highlander. I'm driving a GMC 2500 HD AT4 leveled with 22" wheels and 35" tires. Looking for information on a estimate date of arrival at dealership.

I live in Guelph Ontario. Current vehicle is a 2018 BMW 328d wagon. I have ordered a GX550 Overtrail+ from a nearby dealership.
Their communication is excellent and I have access to an order report that is updated monthly to see the queue for the GX.

If you think leadtimes are long in the US, take a look at this file. Column on the left is order date, column on the far right is currently scheduled production date. We’re up to almost a 5 year wait currently!

Based on the dates on the right it looks like they are only assuming they get one GX allocation a month. I think that’s probably a pretty pessimistic view so hopefully the order list moves a lot quicker than that.

Agreed! They are a smaller market dealer but 5 years seems like a bit much. The Toyota Land Cruiser is currently at a 2-year wait.

Hello Forum, I am looking at purchasing the GX 550 and with that I am entering some new territory. It will be my first Toyota, SUV, and luxury vehicle. So this ride is bound to get interesting. First impression of the site gets my , so I am happy.

Last vehicle I tried to purchase turned into utter chaos. Between dealership and manufacturing issues I lost all my hair and nearly had a stroke. I ended up changing brands altogether in an attempt to reward myself for hard work. And here I am, willing to try out a new love/hate relationship!

Hopefully, you won't encounter the same issues with the Lexus dealer. I anticipate things might be hectic during the first few months of deliveries, but hopefully Lexus will manage to catch up with demand fairly quickly.
