The 'Dealership Accessories' game is pathetic - when he said "they come standard with all new cars for first-time owners." You should respond with 'Oh, so you have prison sex with new customers - but cuddle with 2nd time buyers?"
Mark up above MSRP is just like someone handing me a machine to add a tip. It's gone beyond overboard these days. Dealers get kick backs left and right via financing/writing a lease AND normal mark-up. In addition - dealers now make more money from service than they do selling cars. I have...
That Lexus or the dealer would even deliver that vehicle does not speak well for them given their focus on quality. That says a lot (and not a positive speak) about their focus and shortcutting. If this was a jeep - totally get and expect the games. Not from Lexus....EVER. The more examples...
If you do not mind a wait - Longo is the largest Lexus dealer in the Western US and is East of LA. Understand 46% of the GX's coming to the west cost hit Longo - there are 39 on their web page now (spoke for obviously). No mark-ups/games - you pay MSRP. Give them a $500 deposit and you are...
I had a dealer in your neck of the woods call me on an OT+ and I would have jumped at it - but they had the nerve to add an $8K side window tint package, a $4K wrap package (just the front 1/2 of the hood and 1/2 of the quarter panels) plus a 'wheel protection package for $3.5K. I literally...
We should change this thread to 60+day hold. I spoke to several dealers and they really do not know the cause or are not willing to talk. None had any idea when the vehicles would be released from 'hold.'
My thought is - remove the spare and put on roof for off road adventures if needed. Add aftermarket 2nd tank where the spare is now.
In daily use (non off road) - I’ve had a flat one time and used fix a flat/called roadside assistance. I have not changed a flat in 30 years - so do I need a...
If there is a positive spin to all of this - how many other car mfrs would just let the cars go on the lot and not put them into further inspections. Ineos did that with the new Grenadier and really screwed the customers. Lexus in my book continues to do the right thing here - if we all have...
Anyone have opinions about the Prinsu versus Wescott Designs Racks:
https://prinsu.com/
https://westcottdesigns.net/
I do like the way they both look. Have seen some negative reviews of Prinsu - but with Toyota/Lexus showing so prominently maybe those were sour grape issues.
I did not categorize it correctly - 30 day hold is what I was referencing to - again, dealers at least in CA - the couple I spoke with had not heard that. I would not surprise me that the ports and configuration 3rd party companies are backed up right now given the demand for vehicles.
Hope...
To the point:
"On Lexus website, there needs to be an option to configure and order the car you want delivered to the dealer of your choice or to your home. My last BMW allowed me to do just that and I had a new car customized to my specs delivered within 90 days."
I've done the same with BMW...
Ask if they can add undercoat and fabric protection so the add ons hit $10K over sticker. See too if they will add Lexus 'Space Alien' protective film that covers space ships landing on the car and damaging the paint - its worth the $15K dealer charge.
Actually saw several 'fixes' using sound dampening pads which adhere to the underside of the hood and fixed the issues on Lexus and several other cars.
If it is related to the engine bearing - it's actually positive they are getting in front of it early. I had ordered a Grenadier that arrived in December '23 - they sadly never were able to get in front of any of their defects or issues (corporate just does not seem to care) which lead me to...
Might not look bad - here is a photo with a white top - but looks like in the US the LC has a light gray top from the build page so might not be to matching to it.
