Unfortunately I am in southern cabin vacation, won’t be back at my domicile until next week, I can get you pictures of the tool and instructions. I know the tool is a torx bit.
If I remember correctly each end of the roof rack has a removable plastic cover, remove the cover and the screws...
When I got my lux + the dealer provided a kit with the tool, instructions and the plastic covers. It’s pretty easy took me 10 minutes to remove my rails.
Just had a long road trip about 1300 miles and I was just driving along when my screen went blank. I thought maybe it lost power but it restarted. Anyone else have this issue?
Just completed a 1300 mile trip from Washington state to San Diego. I had a large cooler in the back and it rubbed against the back panel. I think I am screwed about trying to fix it.
I am looking for any ideas. I think a new panel is about $500 or so. Appreciate your thoughts/suggestions...
Just completed a drive from wa state to San Diego about 1300 miles. I averaged about 20.3 to 21 mpg. Avg speed 75 mph. Loaded with about 500 lbs of gear. Used normal and eco mode about 50/50 split.
Miles till empty was about 313 at the beginning of the trip, last fill up miles to empty was...
I got rid of mine, I like the quiet. The rails are not aerodynamic, air moving over them causes my panaramic glass to vibrate. Agree a very poor design.
I mainly drive in comfort or eco noticed mpg about the same. Just finished a trip to Oregon from Washington state, 400 miles round trip. Avg 19-20 mpg avg speed 65-75 mph. High mpg was 20.7. I have 1300 miles on my GX.
Just a heads up if you lower the 2nd row captains chairs make sure your armrests are up. Don’t make my mistake and have one lowered, I when the seat is folded down the tip of the armrest gets folded over to the left.
I was trying to raise my seat back up and was having issues.
Lo and behold I...
Yes I agree, I tried flooring the accelerator pedal for a flooded condition to prime the oil filter but it started normally, but pressure built quickly anyway.
I am hoping that the oil change after the 600 mile break-in will help. Probably more piece of mind for me with the current recall going...
Uses a spin on filter Toyota part # 90915-10010.
I have a 2017 tundra and the tool that I use to remove the filter element housing fits the spin on filter perfectly.
Oil change procedure same as new gen tundra. I like the little catch pan under the oil filter that you attach a length of 5/8...
Just changed my oil at 600 miles, using oem filters and oil until out of warranty. Oil change not too bad, the skid plate took a little time to figure out right way to remove. Next oil change at 5k.
Let me know how the new tires ride, another person put 2022 platinum tundra rims and tires , have not heard about ride improvement.
I am kind of wary of changing the OEM rims now, in case of suspension issues I do not want Lexus to fall back on non standard rim and tire size.
If you have the roof rails you can easily remove them, I did on my Luxury + as the roof rails were causing the panaramic roof to vibrate.
Once removed it’s night and day difference in the noise level.
A couple of othe lux + owners have had the same issue.
Not really a fan of the 22’s kind of bling for me. I noticed the ride is not bad, better now since all my tire pressures were way off 50 psi instead of 33.
The 22’s are more expensive to replace, have to step up to a 275/50R-22 for a decent selection, looks like only a few tires available in...
I have the lux + with the same issue, took mine off, vibration of panaramic glass stopped.
I don’t know of any sound deadening mods.
The roof rack needs a thinner leading and trailing edge. I believe air is not flowing cleanly across the roof rack causing the panoramIc roof to vibrate, I felt...
All four of my tires were set to 50 psi and my spare was set to 55 psi. I was wondering why on the drive home from the dealer why the ride felt very stiff.
Why is the dealer not checking this simple item ? In the Toyota’s I have purchased before I received a checklist on everything the...
Maybe too bling, I’m kind of old fashioned, I think 20’s would look better.
There are very few tires in our size if thinking about replacement in the future. OEM tires are not usually long wearing.
My plan in to go to a 275/50R-22 lots of tires available in that size , only about a inch...
I have a lux + nebula gray/ gray interior. Have driven 300 miles, like the ride and power.
Tech is taking some time to get used to. Sound system is nice.
Gas mileage avg around 17 mpg.
Not a fan of the 22” wheels, would have preferred the 20”.
Cool box in center console is nice...
Looks great! I was looking at the cross rails, not very aerodynamically designed, I figured that the lead and trailing edges should come down to a thin edge kind of like a wing shape. The blocky design is not good for airflow. I wonder if Lexus even knows that this is happening.
I never use...
Just went out for a drive, no more vibrations, felt the panoramic glass not vibrating as was before. Drove different speeds secondary road and highway, no problems encountered.
Cabin is nice and quiet. I like the smooth roof.
Just removed my roof rails using the tool that my dealer provided and the instructions. Pretty easy four half covers to remove along with four star head bolts, took about 10 minutes. My dealer also included the covers that install in the space where the roof rack was. Looks nice and clean.
Time...
