I’d not change anything that you don’t know with 100% certainty of exactly what you’re doing. I wouldn’t give the manufacturer any reason to void your warranty
Interesting…. the people experiencing vibrations seem to feel them in different parts of the car. Earlier in this thread a different guy was stating his was shaking jarringly in the backseat, and he could visibly see the belt buckles dancing around….
For those claiming its the OT trim, I have...
It is indeed interesting that nobody has posted video of the vibration…. If it is vibrating on newly paved flat road, as some have said, then a simple glass of water half full will show the vibration rings.
Mine drives smooth as hell, tested for water rings with a glass of water on new paved...
Not all GX’s have vibration issues. Mine is smooth as butter. Best thing to do is test drive before signing, so you can know if you won the vibration unit lotto
100% it is the seat AC fan. Turn off the climate concierge and auto seat fan option.
This is a very easy thing to pinpoint. Start car, keep in park, turn off radio or any other sound. Turn the seat AC to level 3 and listen, then turn the seat AC off to see if sound stops. If sound...
- my deposit was refundable and applied to final sell. I’d walk if any dealer you deal with says otherwise
- i paid msrp. Seek out a different dealer if they charge a “adjustment” markup over msrp
- it is true there is no custom build; however, you can give them a very specific build, but you...
Apparently the carpet on the back of the seats is pretty sensitive. Looks like that has velcro and hooks for usability in addition to protecting back of 2nd row seats.
Im gonna get these below so my 7 year old doesn’t destroy the back of the 1st row seats
Where I am, the list is still 200 deep. Anyone that walks from their allocation that arrived at dealer, is replaced by the next person in line and sold in 5 minutes… literally 5 minutes.
I have mine now, but when I was waiting because of the hold at port, some dude walked from his. My guy...
Go on cargurus, autotrader, or any other sight to buy a used GX550. They’re all asking either msrp or in many cases well over msrp.
The reason you’re getting offered that is because carmax has to make money on the resale. They’re giving you $65k to then go resale for $74k.

@jreifler let me know what they say about your lean. Is it over 0.59 inches? Apparently that’s what is out of spec.
Haven’t towed yet cuz wanted to break in engine well first.
I’ll measure from hub to center wheel next time i fill up to get exact measurements and post in your lean thread...
My OT drives smooth as butter at all speeds. I’m in Memphis, and jreifler is in Memphis, but not sure if he is having vibration issues(just leaning issues)
If his is vibrating, i’d be willing to meet up with him if he’s willing. Im Curious to test drive one that is vibrating
A poll is a...
Lexus is NOT trying to improve MPG, because they really haven’t from the previous engine.
All Lexus is trying to do is not get the crap fined out of them by the EPA for emissions standards (just like all the other manufacturers).
If you want a V8 nowadays, you have to purchase engines that...
Paint problems on the hood is a known issue. Tell your dealer about it, and they should do something about it. The travel packaging damaged the paint on a bunch units
The LC and GX are priced completely differently than the 4 runners.
If your budget is as high as mid to high $70k, then def go with a GX or LC over a 4runner (5 or 6). If the engines are important to you, either 4 runner will be underwhelming compared to the LC or GX. There are multiple...
Debris in the oil for a new engine will likely show up in first oil change of any new engine. I plan to change mine at 1000 miles as well.
While toyota said it was engine debris in their recall, most of the information out there points to not enough clearance in the 1st main bearing. That...
I am in none of your cars so I don’t know what you’re hearing, but if I had to guess from my experience in my OT and what I hear, it may be the seat A/C.
Next time you hear it. Try turning off the seat A/C and see if that makes the sound disappear. The “climate concierge” with the S-flow...
right at 1000 miles. My average mpg is 17.1. 50/50 city/hwy. no off roading yet. Drive conservative in traffic with steady throttle and only aggressive when necessary.
Curious if the low mpg average people live in verticality or have a heavy foot.
Insurance broker here…. Not to jump in the middle of texlex and gvan’s argument, but states may or may not have laws with glass coverage, but its the insurance companies that offer the coverage, and it differs for every carrier. Most of the carriers i represent offer glass coverage option for...
My salesman shot me straight from day 1. He told me that the QC hold screwed everything up. As they were coming off the boats, the earliest manufactured allocations went into the warehouses/storages first, then were blocked in by units manufactured later. They did all the port installs and...
Just noticed this today on driver and passenger sides where front fender meets corner panels. Does anyone else have uneven panel gaps here?
Its on driver and passenger side for me. They’re pinched together and touching on the bottom where circled
According to the Car Care Nut, toyota/lexus “quietly” discontinued parts related to the main bearing that is failing in most of the engines as of April 2024. GX 550 production started shortly after, so 550 engines should have the new part. Watch video below. Engine parts starts at 15:00 min mark
Just filled up at the costco on winchester in Memphis. I def see sag on your passenger side. Below is a back photo shot of mine on a full tank. Doesn’t appear to be leaning like yours. Im on a incline in that photo and will post again after fill up on level flat surface with zero incline
