Stealing this from Reddit: anyone have any thoughts here? Wondering if you can just swap the coils in the front to get the rig level.
After speaking to several parts departments I’ve nailed down that the only difference are the front and rear coils. OT shocks are the exact same in 24 & 25. Here are the updated part numbers:
Spring Coil Front - 48131-60U30
Spring Coil Rear - 48231-60Q00

Interesting - would really like to see some details on the 2024 vs. 2025 coils (lengths & spring rates?) and side-by-side photos.

I wonder what the Westcott pre-load collar lift and the 2025 coils would produce?

Thanks for sharing.
This is pretty much how I was expecting for Lexus to get the 1 inch lift.
Basically giving you 1 inch up travel and ride height in exchange for 1 inch less down travel.
Not surprised it doesn't come with extended travel dampers.

I really wish the '24 came with the lift and aux ports though.

I am not saying anyone on here is wrong, in fact I am hoping you are right. However, I just spoke with my service department at Pohanka Lexus in Chantilly, Va and they did some digging. Apparently the 2025 OT 1” Lift Upgrade is NOT compatible with the 2024 model. He advised that it is an $1,800 package, and that I could buy it and try to get it installed somewhere else, but Lexus would not. The only reason I wanted to go thru Lexus was to maintain the warranty, however it looks like you cant. If anyone hears anything else, please let me know, otherwise it looks like im just going to install the Peak Performance 1.25” leveling kit. Lol

Hey there, I'm actually the Reddit OP that JustHere4Research copied their text from. Here is the link to my reddit post that shows a few more details - parts diagrams and numbers (with issue dates): https://www.reddit.com/r/LexusGX550/s/rro1C7781v

If possible, I'd love to hear more about what Pohanka had to say about the kit - part numbers, rational, etc.

Like you, I'm not saying anyone is wrong, just trying to get to the bottom of this mystery as we're getting conflicting details from various dealerships.

Hi! When I called I spoke with the service guy, you could tell I was the first person to ask him this question. He checked with parts as well as a master tech. He put me on hold for a solid 20 minutes, but before that I referenced your post about just having to add the new coils, which he passed along. And when he got back in the phone, he relayed the info above. If true, its kind of hard to believe that parts for a 1yr newer model wouldnt be compatible…sorry I dont have anymore info.

it's possible it wouldn't be a good idea to try and install these springs. For all anyone knows, the 25 has longer C/V arms. You can only lift them so far before you have too much angle

The Icon offers suspension lift kits that lift the front 1.25-3”, however, they recommend replacing the upper control arms at 2.0” or higher in lift to maintain proper front wheel alignment. (This is in-line with my 4Runner)

I have Kings and they don't go more than 2". Icon doesn't tell you how much wear you're putting on your c/v's by going 3" I'd bet if they can go 3", they have upgraded arms, like for the Tundra or should

You should find another dealer ... The 1" upgrade is not a $1,800 package that can be installed at the port or dealer.

If the shocks are in fact the same, the springs must be interchangeable. The only exception would be if the top hats are different where the springs mount. Visually, no one is going to see an 1" difference on a vehicle with that much wheel gap to question if there is anything "aftermarket". If everything is stamped Lexus, not sure why they would ever void any warranty. It's not like the techs will search and cross reference every part number on the car before touching it. Parts numbers vary over the life cycle of a vehicle anyway.

I'm not sure I understand your point.

If the info above is correct and just buying the new springs is $1,000, are you saying..., well, what are you saying?

He mentioned that it’s an “$1,800 package”. Where is there a 1” package for upgrading a 2024?

Swapping to another OEM spring that is barely detectable is not going to void anyone’s warranty.

We need a 24 and 25 OT to meet up and do a proper “tear down” and compare.

If every 2025 Overtrail comes with the additional 1" springs as standard, then it's not a "package." If it is a "package," then you should be able to buy it separately and install it (but not necessarily on a 2024 model).

Hi all, I completely understand what you’re saying about the “package”. But I am literally just relaying what I was told from my dealer. After reading the earlier Reddit post, I was really hoping they would just say to come in and we’ll put in some new coil springs and you will have your new lift lol. Again, I hope my dealer is wrong and someone on here will have some better luck, and eventually pass that information along.

Feel free to reach out to Pohanka in Chantilly, Va or reach out to your own dealers. But again, im just passing the info along…

No worries, I got you. Dealers like to share false information all the time so can't always trust them. It's sad but that's the industry these days. I'd love to find out if it truly is just the springs that are updated on the 25. I looked up those part numbers and the front is listed at ~$240 each. For $500 and a few beers later you can have a 25 spec OT.

I was told the Wescott leveling kit would not affect the warranty because that is the kit Lexus uses.
