24 vs 25 OT OEM 1” Lift Details via reddit

This is a great write up! I initially tried the dealership where I bought my GX, they wanted nothing to do with even trying to help out. Called another dealer down the road and they came back with the exact same info you posted. They even said I already had the rear coil in mine, but also agreed that it didn’t make sense, but they are still looking into it and are going to try and reach out at the end of the week. Please keep us informed on your guys progress, thanks!
I, and many others, will be really interested to see how it goes, and the ride afterwards (if in fact new springs get installed..). Thanks for helpful insight.

A few updates and thoughts on this topic, would love hear this group's inputs on these development and poke holes my thinking to keep me honest. Sorry for the wall of words.

I have read and heard elsewhere (this forum, reddit, etc.) that the 2024 and 2025 Overtrails have the same ground clearance and suspension components. Even when speaking to Westcott sales, he parroted this falsehood in saying their engineer found zero differences between the '24 & '25 OT's suspension components. He went as far as to say "it was a sales gimmick by Lexus calling out increased ground clearance for 2025 OT models as it was already present on 24 OT's". Further, the fact they are using the same kit for '24 & '25 OT's indicates they believe that both years have the same suspension components.

Skeptical that a reputable outfit like Westcott would be wrong about this, I went to a Lexus dealership so I could compare '24 vs '25 OT clearances in person. Photos are attached and I apologize for any parallax error. Hopefully folks can see the difference between the two:

In summary: '25 OT's do indeed have a +1" lift compared to '24 OT's

I still believe that the spring coils are the only suspension component difference between '24 & '25 OT's. I've had this corroborated by the multiple Lexus parts departments willing to go down that rabbit hole with me. In speaking to Westcott, they said that installing their kit on a '25 OT would still yield the full +2.5" in the front.

If true, installing Wescott's Preload kit to a '25 OT means you would get 3.5" lift over a stock '24 OT height. As stated previously, '25 OT's have the exact same suspension components as '24 OT's except for the coils. In that case, you're essentially lifting a '24 OT +3.5" in the front. I wonder if this start's to become a concern for your UCA's, CV axles, etc.?

I've went ahead and pulled the trigger on the '25 OT spring coils for my '24 OT. Ordered through Longo Lexus:
2x Spring Coil Front - 48131-60U30
2x Spring Coil Rear - 48231-60Q00

I'll keep this group posted as things progress on my end. I'll be sure to post pictures comparing the two model year springs side by side as well.

ETA is mid-April but I'll very surprised if that is met.

A few other curious items that I've run into:
  • In speaking to the Longo Lexus, they relayed that the Rear Coil part # I ordered is for both '24 & '25 OT's and that my current '24 OT already has these coils
  • I believe Longo Lexus has error on their end, but in the event that I already have these springs on the rear (which I highly doubt) I've confirmed that I can return them
  • I'm fairly certain my '24 OT does not have rear coils "48231-60Q00" because my height measurements are identical to the '24 I cited in the attached pictures
  • When I plug my vin into the Lexus parts website, says "no vehicles found". Perhaps it's because my '24 is a very late production date? Does anyone else have this issue? They don't even have '25 GX550's parts listed
Huge thanks for doing this and report back if it works out.

What do people here think about just doing the front coils? Seems like the front needs the lift more than the rear on this truck.

Probably depends on your end goals. I think your suggestion is probably the best value/capability bet. And would get you closer to level as well. I think the delta rake from front to rear is ~2".

As stated before, I pulled the trigger on all 4 springs. I still want a leveled look so I think I think I will use only the bottom collar spacer from Peak to get a ~0.75 inch bump in the front. They also have a GX550 specific kit under development where the collar spacer slightly thicker to give a full 1 inch (I won't use the top mount spacers, which are the same for both kits, and account for 1.25" lift, are limited by Toyota/Lexus stud design), so maybe I'll hold off for that.

I am very hesitant to install the Westcott collars to level as I believe +3.5" lift (coil+collar) over '24 OT stock is too much strain on the suspension/drive without changing out more components.

Also, I want my tires to match my spare tire size, which I think has a maximum of ~34 or 34.5" diameter in the stock storage area. So achieving a full 2.5" lift to fit 35" tires isn't my objective.

TenaciV, when you get the springs delivered let me know. I haven't heard anything from my local dealer when I inquired about ordering them. I'll get them elsewhere I if I don't get an answer and you can confirm you got what you ordered. Are you able to install the springs yourself?

Thank you,

I just talked to my local Lexus dealer, and they say that the 25 springs aren't in stock in the US. I see them online at the Lexus OEM parts site. I'm happy to order them, but I wonder if the Lexus dealer will install them if they don't come through them. Has anyone had any experience bringing Lexus official parts to a dealer and having them installed? Will I have to go to a third party to do it?

EDIT: I just got an email from Lexus Parts online that said those parts were on nationwide backorder, and could be couple months before they were available. So, interesting to see if anyone who has ordered them gets them soon. I hope so.

Ordered mine this morning from Longo and will have them installed by my shop that works on my LC’s here in Mississippi. With it just being springs, I can’t imagine it being anything major, ya know? I’m having it done at the same time he’s installing my cbi front covert.

Would appreciate hearing when they arrive, thanks!
