35s Fit! KO3 285/75 R18

Hello! It will fit in the trunk flat. I tried a 295/70 and we were able to fit it minus the rim but did not fit once mounted and using the pulley...I have a hitch carrier that I'm going to use when going on more difficult trails for long distances and also purchased a spare set of wheels to run the OEM tires when daily driving. This is the only way I could find to have a spare for daily driving and off roading. I don't like to have the hitch carrier installed with the swing out because I can't open the tail gate while in the garage, otherwise it wouldn't be a big deal...I should probably start working on a slide out carrier! The reverse sensors do beep but can never muted, the back up camera is blocked but surprisingly is not totally useless...

Thanks for the answers. Do you lose the camera and make the reverse sensors go crazy with a hitch mounted tire carrier?

It sounds like 285/70R18 may be the biggest tires that will fit under the truck, but coming from a Jeep on 37s, that would feel like such a huge step back.

I'd be happy with 11" - 11.5" of clearance. I want to balance the increased ground clearance with maintaining droop to keep the tires on the ground over crosscuts or moguls.
There is an old Aussie vid that explains a lot about the impact of lifts and larger tyres, for those with less experience this worth a watch:

indeed 35 fits easily
Lexyjoe - Those tires look great! I have the Overtrail + and would like to upsize tires without doing other modification. Do you have any rubbing? I notice that you went with a wider offset. If I want to keep the whole tire inside the wheel well do you think I would have a problem if I go with 35'?

Yes you will rub with a full 35 without modification. There are two rubbing points. If you go with a more negative offset like 0. It will be the front edge bumper and the front bracket area. I can take pics. If you go with a higher offset like 35 to 45s it will hit the inner bracket area and most likely the outer areas too.

I think the sweet spot if upgrading rim is +35 offset if you want it flushed. A tires size of 285 70 17 would not rub. anything higher it will rub. If upsizing tire from the overtrail 18 inch rim its probably 275 70 18. This is without lift or modification.

Thanks for the valuable information! Super helpful.

Sorry to revive and old thread. @JorgeR or anyone else, what did you come up with to fit the spare tire? Seems like a bit of cutting would get that 35" up there no problem but I could be mistaken.
