Not sure if anyone notices this but my when my AC is on every 15-20 seconds I can hear what sounds like an air line filling up or pressure being released. It is not super loud but can be heard above road noise and talk radio. Now that I hear it I cannot not hear it.
Before I take it back to dealer I just wondered if this was something that others have heard.
Thank s

I just got an overtrail and have the same issue. It’s not horribly loud, but I have to turn the radio on to not obsess about it. Have you found the source? Taking mine in for a checkup in a couple of weeks. Thanks, Ivan

I will ask the dealer next week when it goes in to get the passenger seat message fixed.

Since its summer and your AC is probably always on, have you confirmed you absolutely dont hear the sound when the AC is completly off and cool box (if equipped) is off? What you're describing sounds a lot like the Turbo spooling up.

Apparently it is a known potential issue. One of the air lines that goes to the seat disconnects. I have not even attempted to find it as I will let the dealer take care of it.

Could just be the AC compressors cycling?

My OT is doing the same thing! The constant whirring of it is aggravating! I like to drive without anything on in the am while I enjoy my mountain views- but since I bought this vehicle I have to have my radio on so I am not hearing it- the sound wouldn’t be so annoying if it made sense why it was coming on, but not being able to turn it of- I do feel a little crazy🤣 I am also seeing the hood rattle and I have excessive sound coming from the passenger door/ loud wind noise… I bought this car because we didn’t want to buy a defender as we already own a Range Rover and have had a lot of work done to it and we also own a bronco Sasquatch wildtrak - we were looking for something that would be a little quieter than the bronco and this vehicle is just as loud-

I am in none of your cars so I don’t know what you’re hearing, but if I had to guess from my experience in my OT and what I hear, it may be the seat A/C.

Next time you hear it. Try turning off the seat A/C and see if that makes the sound disappear. The “climate concierge” with the S-flow, auto chair A/C, and econ mode are annoying in my opinion. Its supposed to be intuitive, but I am not so lazy that i can’t turn a knob if im cold or hot. The constantly changing A/C modes only makes me do more work and never know what settings are on or off.

gonna try and get climate concierge turned off permanently at 5000 miles

During my first service at 5k miles, I alerted the dealer to this to see if they could address it. They assigned a Lexus field technical specialist to work with the dealer tech and determine what the issue was. Spent 3 days at the dealership and was returned to me today. They said "this being a first gen vehicle issues will take some time. The noise is considered normal at this time, but will be monitored should a replacement or remedy be necessary."

I honestly feel like we are guinea pigs to the new GX550... between the vibration felt in the chassis over roads to this noise of this compressor I almost am wondering what is going to happen next. This is not Lexus quality... And I think it is going to take others to complain about these issues to get them addressed.

Hey, My OT has the exact same issue. Sounds like a compressor noise to me. It' happened like every 10s so I assume we're all facing the same issue. I sent my OT to dealer to have an inspection last week and they just told me it's normal and all GX they had have this sound. I doubt it but since I see you all have this issue... So it may tame times till Lexus know how to fix... I think this is related to the temperature as well. I first time noticed this sound in the last 2 week, when I'm in Texas, and recently, we got 100 degrees hot every day, and this sound is more noticeable than before. I really hope this sounds will disappear when the weather get cooler like under 85. But thanks guys it make me feel much better hearing I'm not alone lol.

I am also in TX and can concur with the sound and frequency of occurrence correlating to the temperature. We have noticed on cooler days it is less noticeable.
Anyone have the cool box question asked above from Larry? And, I agree with the Lexus status failing.... Please Lexus, HELP for all concerned.
My issue does not seem to relate to the cool box but is related to the AC.

150 miles on our OT+, makes the same noise at the same frequency. 90 degrees outside. Also-the base of drivers seat gets cool air not the back. And the front right seat Massage does not turn on, like you can’t slide the tab to blue on the screen.

As someone had mentioned above it could be related to the cooling function of the seats. Based off the above listed post it sounds like a supply line may have disconnected from the seat bottom or seat back (similar to the problem with the massage function of the seats). Can those who are having the problem confirm that the seat bottoms and backs on both your front seats are cooling when that function is on? Just a thought
