Drive mode isn't sticky :-(

I love that they have a Custom drive mode option. I set mine to Economy engine but standard Air and Comfort suspension.
However when I set it, every time I turn the car off it returns to Standard (or whatever it is called) mode! Really annoying.
I haven't tried to see if it sticks in Economy (don't like it, wimpy air conditioning) or other modes but since it doesn't stick in Custom I keep getting worse gas mileage.

Has anyone figure out how to make it stick in Custom mode through subsequent start/stops of the engine?

That is maddening but has been the same in nearly every car I've ever owned. I don't have my 550 yet but my BMW X5 had the same issue.

It will stay in Comfort. I though it would also stay in Economy mode too. They don't let it stay in Sport or Sport+ because a little old lady might get in and plow into a wall.

It should also stick in Custom - how can we file a bug report or feature request with Lexus? This could easily be fixed by a software update.

Yeah I just realized this morning that comfort mode sticks after I tried it out on my drive home yesterday and didn't change it back to normal, and it was still active this morning.

I've been using the eco mode and yes, it sticks and is saved each drive. There is also a second eco indicator, a green flag above the first, which indicates your driving behavior is in the "zone" (maximized fuel economy). Which basically means just because you drive in eco mode, hard acceleration, braking and other poor habits can still result in poor fuel economy. Those enrolled in "Drive Pulse and Trips" on the Lexus app under "find" can review their behavior in great detail. It measures harsh cornering, fast acceleration, and harsh braking. Brutally honest and accurate.

I understand this may be a bit off-topic but i think it's worth mentioning.

You can turn off the Eco A/C in the options, that way you can leave it in Economy and still have standard A/C and Heat

Interstingly, I'm having a similar issue from another perspective. I constantly turn off the "Eco" mode from the climate controls, but I have to repeatedly do this every few days because it invariably reverts back to the Eco mode on it's own and will only blow air on the occupied seats. I struggle with back seat air conditioning as it is because the OT+ doesn't have rear controls. Apparently the Eco mode being turned off in the climate section doesn't seem to stick either.

Also interestingly, even when I do turn off the Eco mode from the drive mode and/or from the climate section, I will still get the green "Eco" icon lighting up in the bottom left corner of the driver display sometimes as I'm driving - does anyone know if this is indicating some other kind of Eco setting other than the drive mode or the climate control?

From page 85 of the Owners Manual:

Eco Driving Indicator Light
During Eco-friendly acceleration operation (Eco driving), the Eco Driving Indicator Light will turn on. When the acceleration exceeds Zone of Eco driving, or when the vehicle is stopped, the light turns off.

Yea the small green eco is not to be confused with the Economy drive mode which shows as bigger Eco light haha. The eco driving or whatever is an old Toyota/Lexus thing to physiologically make you feel good and think that you're driving efficiently. Of course you quickly snap out of it as you notice the 13.4 mpg on another screen. My old GX460 had it, and 4Runner had the same eco driving indicator.

In regard to A/C, I would make sure you're not in S-Flow or whatever is called. As I understand if S-Flow is turned off all the vents will get air even in Eco A/C. I've pay attention to the issue you're having and Eco A/C turning on. I'll turn it off during the summer. Right now it gets hot enough quick even with Eco turned on.
