Easiest, cheapest way to turn Luxury+ wheel rims grey ?

What would be the least intrusive way to de-uglify the default 22" wheels on the Luxury plus ?
Dont want to replace the wheels altogether, just want to color them grey if possible ?

Are there slap on rim covers etc. or some kind of paint that survives car washes for a couple of years ?

Find a local wheel re-finishing shop. They will strip and powder coat them often with 24 hour turnaround. Powder Coating is the only way to go if you want them to last. Small town I live in has one that does a set of 4 wheels for $350. Includes dismount teardown and re-balance & mounting.

I have used this exact product to turn the wheel rims on my previous Bronco from silver to black. There are many color options. It takes about 4 hours for you to do this. There are many articles about how to do it correctly. I left the wheels on while minimally applying 6 coats over the 4 hours. Held up perfectly for a year in Miami and then I sold the Bronco. I washed the car myself. I used black but you could use one of the many greys they offer. Don’t spray your car on accident. Cover inside brake pad etc with newspaper.

If you get a scratch or rock chip just re-spray. Not sure how it holds up to machine car washes.

Total cost $90 for a 6 pack.

Since this is a Lexus many will say better to powder coat with professional.

I guess just keep in mind none of that stuff is permanent.

It will start to flake or take on damage at which point it will need removal and to be redone.

Power coating is the correct way to change a wheels color.

Correct. I would either do powder coating or just leave as is. Especially o bc the rim where there will be high chance of road abrasions.

Or buy some rims you like and sell the takeoffs. Probably net net you will come out ahead vs powder coating.

Wondering the same thing. I picked up my premium plus. Has blackout emblems and want the rims to be totally black. The ones in showroom are almost 4k and won’t fit. Haven’t looked elsewhere yet. Sales said to use plasti dip. Anyone used? Isn’t she a thing of beauty haha

Plastidip is surprisingly durable if you prep the surface well and go for multiple coats. Also If you're open to smaller wheels I'd also ask the dealer if they know any recent/waitlist GX550 owners who want to swap wheels, personally I'd prefer the OT or Premium wheels over the Luxury 22's

You could paint them yourself - take them off, scratch with 400 grit sandpaper, a few coats of wheel paint, clear coat. Wait for it to dry and you’re good to go

I’m in ATX just got a quote of $300 per tire to powder coat. Definitely looking at finding solid black rims and selling mine.
