We recently took delivery of our GX OT+ with the factory applied 3M PPF.

This is what the website shows:

You can see the red dotted outline shows the bumpers, mirrors, behind the door panels and fenders.

Well, ours does not have anything on the bumper or door handles. It’s just about a 6” strip that’s on the hood (which is funny because the diagram doesn’t show any on the hood).

It’s a bit deceptive. But the price of the PPF at $450 wasn’t horrible.
I just think Lexus should be clear on what’s exactly getting covered.

Discovered the same issue. Lexus should be required to install the protective film as illustrated. Going to start by making my dealer aware to see if it can be resolved.

Agreed ours was also not covered on the bumper which we paid extra to have installed before we drove it home. I did not see the outlined area ever on their promotional documents. I hope you can have the bumpers done for the same price.

The dealer charged me $3551 for the PPF on the entire front end plus a foot or so up the hood plus the side view mirrors. It was a "take it or leave it" dealer tax on the truck. The PPF is already separating at a few small areas on the headlights. You better believe I'll be taking it back across town to that specific dealership to make them replace it as needed.

not sure if it matters, but was the film port Installed or dealer installed? Does the Lexus ppf usually get added on at the port? Maybe the dealer has a “copycat” ppf add-on that they charge the same amount as the Lexus option for added profit.

Just a guess into why the coverage was so different

What did you have done and what was the cost. I'm looking at getting after market PPF and prices and coverage seem to be all over the place.

I paid $2500 for lower bumper, front bumper, grill, full hood, fenders, full mirrors, a-pillars, partial roof & infotainment screen

For us here in San Diego that would be a little more than 3K. Prices are just higher here. The best I could get was $950 for bumper lights and grill, $600 for full hood and $200 mirrors and pillars. The quote closest to this was $1550 just for the front bumper. Prices are all over the map but I'm going with the Bro San Diego bid which seems the closest to your prices. I went there today just to check them out and they do good work and had a garage full of high end off roaders including G-Wagons.

If you want it done right you have to use a professional company that specializes in high end cars. You only get the basic cheap version at dealers. (Money grab). I got my entire front including full hood, both front quarters, full front face and mirrors done with ceramic pro Kavaca (best on the market with full 12 yr warranty) for $2500 and full ceramic pro coating on the entire car for $1800 (lifetime warranty). I’m really happy with the car

Same issue and pointed it out to my dealer (Hendrick Lexus Kansas City) and they took care of adding at no cost the additional PPF with a local PPF installer as shown in the Lexus accessory picture.

My initial quote had listed the PPF @ $995 and I said I didn't want that. The sales person said he wouldn't charge me but I said No, I don't want the PPF applied to my vehicle .
